When Sumayya and her mom attain into the room, her mom ask her who the guy is.

Sumayya explained.

That it their senior in school, he saved her from her class mates torture and moking

"That really thoughtful of him, your brothers contact me that they won't come home this weekend they're about to start exams"

"Wow mom I wish them good luck in their exams, once I finish my secondary school I will also move to the same university with my brothers"

"They would have finish by then"

"I want to stay in the hostel too and have good friends"

"You know it better to stay home, I don't like those kind of hostel, they're some girls out there that might be too bad they can influence you to do bad things and that what am scared of"

"Mom but why didn't they influence my brothers"

"Your brothers are smart you can't compare boys with girls,"

"You mean am dumb am not smart and wise enough"

" Mom am hungry let's leave the talk till when the time comes"

Nuruddeen arrived home. He freshen up and eat. When he was through, his mom ask him why he took so long to come back from school today.

He said he was busy saving a girl who was being bullied by her classmates.

"Oh son is she from your class?"

"She's from a junior class, mom I felt pity for the girl, she's a beautiful and calm girl but they're poor I wish I have the power to help them and buy them a new house that house is so old"

"What!! Don't tell me by just saving a girl you followed her to their house, what if your Dad sees you"

"You and Dad are seeing me as a Kid am a grown up guy ain't a small boy"

"Your Dad don't want us to associate with low class people and I also don't want to eaither, and I don't want my son to fall in love with a poor girl, if it had been a she's from a rich family I wouldn't have said this. Next time when you see her being bullied don't go near her"

"Mom what kind of a mother are you? What if am in her shoe will you want someone not to save your son? Remember you also have daughters"

"You can't compare weak people with the strong ones"

"Sumayya is a kind girl, if you see her mode of dressing you won't believe they're poor, and she's beautiful that what even made me surprise when I saw their house"

"Don't tell me you've fall in love with the girl"

"You have to remove her in your heart right away because you know your Dad will never allow you to be in a relationship with a poor girl"

"Mom stop calling her a poor girl, we don't know what will happen to us or them in future, who knows they might be rich and we might be poor later"

"Don't even dream of saying those things, let's stop this talk, am going out to visit my friend Mrs Hafsat when your sisters comes back from the saloon tell them meet me at Mrs hafsat house it not too far from here"

Nurudden took a deep breath and sigh, he kept thinking of Sumayya he promise to help Sumayya. He's Dad transfers 50,000 to him every month just to buy anything he wish but he promise he will talk to Sumayya about it if she agrees he will be sending her 30,000 every month may be if she saves it within a year they can buy a new house and leave that old house.

The next day at school Sumayya didn't see bilkisu and hajara today, may be they were scared of being reported to the principal.

When it was closing time Sumayya kept watching towards the senior section if she can see Nurudden to thank him again, but it seems like the senior classes are having extra lessons so she left.

When she was walking down the street to look for a taxi, someone suddenly called her name behind her back and that made her startled.

"Oh senior Nuruddeen I thought you are having some extra classes"

"Yeah we are having classes but I told them am not feeling too well, I lied "

"But why?"

"I want to keep your Mom's promise for coming next time to have some water"

Sumayya laughed "Alright since you said so it good to keep promises, oh here is a taxi"

"I will pay for it"

"Oh no I should pay for it"

"As if you have enough money to pay for 2"

When she checked her bag it was only 100 naira, and when Nuruddeen saw it he laughed

"Oh yes you're right I'm only have money to pay for my self"

"Okay lets go"

They both sat at the back sit and kept chating...." I wanted to ask you something Sumayya"

"Alright feel free senior Nuruddeen"

"How old are you?"

"Am 17"

"But your character seems like a 20 year old girl, you're smart"

"Am not that smart because I said I will pay the taxi for 2 and I only have money for 1"

"If am in your shoe I will do the same it not your fault"

When they arrive at sumayya's house he pay the taxi driver and they shaunted inside the house.

He greeted her Mom and her Mom was glad to see him again...."it you nurudden in our house welcome have a sit, Sumayya bring him some water to drink first the food will soon be ready now"

"Mam you don't need to brother with the food the water is okay"

"We can't have guessed and let him go on an empty stomach you need to at least drink some refreshment, Sumayya "here rake this go buy him some refreshment at a nearby shop close to us"

When Sumayya came back her Mom told her to serve him the drink she will go bring to food.

The food was served to Nuruddeen. It a jollof rice cooked with palm oil and dried fish with meats, nuruddeen enjoyed the food a lot, he had a thought in his mind that he had never eaten such a delicious lunch like this even in their house the maids cannot cook so delicious like this.

When they were all done eating her Mom said she's so grateful to him for helping her daughter and keeping his promise to come.

"Am also grateful mam for giving me such a delicious meal.

Nuruddeen glanced at his wrist watch and it almost past 2 so he stood up to leave.

" Oh nuruddeen your're leaving suddenly?"

"Yes mam thank you for meal, I will get going"

"Alright Sumayya walk him outside"

When they came out he told Sumayya that he want to have a word with her...."I want to help you but I don't know if you or your Mom will approve of that"

"Alright"

"Here is my ATM card. I have 2 cards and I give you one, I know you haven't open an account because you haven't reach the year of opening the account, he wrote his pin number in a paper and gave her to use it when withdrawing, I have 300, 000 inside the account because my Dad have been sending me money and I don't spend much"

"But senior it not appropriate for me to accept it because....

He stop her from saying anything..." Please Sumayya accept it and don't worry I have money in my other account you see I have 2 ATM cards, I gave you one and I use the other one. I will be sending you 30,000 every month, you should be saving it, at the end of the year you and your mom should buy a new house"

"I don't know if my Mom and brothers will accept this, but I know they won't"

"So you have phone?"

"No"

"But do you know how to withdraw money from the ATM?

" yes senior"

"Tomorrow I will take you to a plaza and buy you new phone"

"Can I use the money in the ATM you gave me to buy phone?

" I don't want you to touch that money, I will buy you the new phone myself okay?"

"Yes"

"Alright till we meet tomorrow, and take care of your self for me"

"Okay I will, thank you senior nuruddeen"
