Lucy's POV
Every part of my body ached. I had a throbbing sensation and a heavy feeling in my head. The brightness coming through the window was bothering my eyes. I lifted my right hand to shield my eyes from the light, hoping they would adapt to the brightness. I withdrew my hand gradually as it improved. Opening my eyes confirmed my life was still intact. What led to this occurrence? I leaped from the towering cliff and wondered how someone as myself could possibly live through such a fall.
The ceiling appears new in my perspective. Glancing around the room, I realized it wasn't mine, my mom's, or any of the park house rooms. I didn't even recognize this place.
It was a large and stunning room. The room appeared to be designed for wealthy individuals or those from noble lineage. The bed was too beautiful for a useless person to lie on, and there were flowers and paintings in the room.
"Where am I located?" I questioned myself.
Upon waking, I recalled the events leading up to my thoughts racing. Almond's words to me, as well as what he said to his friends, caused me great sadness. I suppose that the worthless individual was somehow still breathing.
Perhaps I received assistance from a few kind individuals. I will forever appreciate their goodness in this world, but they didn't have to rescue a fragile human like myself.
Being alive was pointless since nobody would require my presence. However, the only thing I am curious about is...... where could I be?
I attempted to get up from the bed but halted upon hearing the door's noise. A woman entered the room with two others following her, holding a tray as the others nodded in greeting towards me.
"O majesty!" As she raised her voice in surprise and lowered her head, three more individuals entered the spacious room. I stared at them with a blank expression. I was unfamiliar with all of them. Were they the ones that assisted me?
"Are you feeling alright?" One of the girls with lengthy hair inquired about those things.
I provided no answer. I was unsure of how to respond. Could this have been some sort of practical joke? Was this done to me by my friend? Where was Alice located? Should I choose my mother or Henry? These individuals are unknown to me; I have never encountered them in the group previously. Even the girl in front of me couldn't.
Once again, the girl inquired about my current feelings, addressing me as "my princess." Her voice was soft in volume, yet it emanated a chilly beauty akin to lovely melodies for me. On her face, one of her eyes was blue while the other was emerald green. She was beautiful and seemed like a kind individual. Perhaps she was the person responsible for taking care of my injuries.
"Um... could you tell me who you all are?" Has my friend Alice pulled another prank on me? Could I please speak with her?
Perhaps her intention was to show me that there were individuals who cared for me. I consistently advised her against actions that elicited the emotions I desired. However, upon reflection, she repeated the action once more, this time with individuals I had no acquaintance with.
"We are not aware of Alice's identity." "You are inside your royal residence."
"Have I passed away? Did every deceased individual arrive, as my mother stated? "Is this heaven?" I placed my hand over my mouth.
I heard them laughing when I spoke those words.
I'm sorry, sweetheart. This is your royal residence. You are the princess who got lost in the forest when you were young. The woman detailed everything to me. However, my brain was not functioning properly, I couldn't comprehend anything they were saying; I don't grasp their meaning. In what way could someone like myself, become a princess who was thought to be missing for a long time? Was it even achievable? These individuals were not human; they possessed the distinct eye color of werewolves.
The King of Lycans will arrive earlier. All you have to do is relax. We have brought food for you. Simply inform us if you require anything and we will obtain it for you.
"Wait.. so you're saying that's actually true?" I expressed my disbelief clearly. Despite the fact that the woman repeated it to me numerous times, I still didn't understand. How is it possible for this to occur? I was simply a worthless, pitiful, unloved, and feeble individual. How is it possible that upon opening my eyes, I transformed into a princess? Could it be a princess who was missing for a long time? Did it seem like a dream?
"Yes, Your Highness. The statement we made was accurate. Simply inform us if you require any assistance." They all showed their respect towards me by bowing.
I was in awe as my lips separated. What made it achievable?
I was a nobody. Similar to the advice Almond always shared with me. How is it possible for someone to not be recognized as a long-lost princess right now?
They exited the room, allowing me to take a break for some time. I climbed back into bed and gazed up at the ceiling. I attempted to smack my own face to confirm that I was not dreaming. I was still unconvinced by their words. I was no princess.
I shut my eyes and placed my hand on my face to rest. "Lucy, please awaken. All those were mere fantasies. Get up. I repeated those words to myself. However, it was not a dream. I existed within my own world.
"Your Highness? Is it possible? I am only a mere mortal. My family recently brought me into the fold, but how did the Lycan King manage to misplace his own child? And said that... it was I?
I am unsure of how to feel. However, I was in the process of acknowledging it and trusting their words.
I rose from the bed once more and held a conversation with myself. A frail mortal was the mysterious daughter of the Lycan King. I believe I am going crazy in my dream.
