  Mid-conversation with another man who was dressed in a smart suit, he must have felt a pair of eyes on him, as Jace turned his attention to me. As I was about to raise a hand to be polite and give a brief hello, he turned away from me, continuing his conversation and leading the men through some nearby double-doors.   I guessed that was that, and that Jace didn’t veer far from the stereotype that I had of men in my mind. He had just been after one thing, and when he hadn’t got it, simply wasn’t interested.   Making my way out of the hotel, why was I so bothered by that notion? I held no claim to Jace, and to be fair to him, he had been a gentleman, so it’s not like we’d had s*x and he had tossed me to the side. That would’ve been worse.
