Finally reaching my parent’s house, my first port of call was to have a look at what this file contained. Apparently, I had to read through whatever was in it – all of it. Briefly looking at the number of papers inside the file, it was enough to put me off reading for life. But it was apparently ‘essential’ that I did so. Flinging off my shoes in the hallway, I decided to get changed first, as the heat had caught up with me and I could feel the sweat starting to form under my suit jacket. Taking my bag and the file with me, I ran upstairs to get changed before settling in to do some reading.
