My Idea

I humbly got out of the car to get the full picture of this 'abode' mom and dad bragged about and frankly, I was impressed. "So what do you think?" Mother gaped happily and proudly, doe eyed. I just stared at the lady. Dad and she then took small steps forward as they stared in amazement at their prize and the invisible but imminent destruction of my ego or pride. An arm was thrown over mom's shoulder, a kiss touched her forehead and smiles were stretched to fulfilment by my dear parents. "Oh finally you're here!" Spoke up a random woman that suddenly came out of the door of the house, clad in a formal beige lady suit. °°°°° My parents and the contractor, the weird lady from earlier, were discussing relevant matters in the dining room as I unloaded the last of the baggage from the car. The rest of it was coming from a truck in about half an hour. With the free time on my hands, I decided to take a tour of this 'abode'. Rather like a national park. Tall dense trees lingered like a backdrop behind the modern-styled wooden house. At the front yard grew a house of yellow wildflowers by the hedge. Right at the end of the chic lushy-edged wide avenue towards the house was a round small lot with gravel crusting. Further away was just a forest and a winding road that ended blindly. "Take a walk around sweetie." Mom said from the porch with a soft grin, "Get to know your new neighbourhood." "Yeah sure." I replied curtly before I paced slowly but steadily tracking along the road. As I gazed around, all I could see was dense trees, birds mating like it's no-one's business, butterflies, weeds, and the further I went the more I could see that I was definitely going to be lonely here. I had walked for about seven minutes and I was already bored out of my mind. "f**k this shit." I cursed under my breath. Suddenly, I could hear aggravated responses from a local coming from end of the road I was heading to. I walked curiously on following the sounds and having gotten closer, I could then hear a malfunctioning car engine revving. When the scene at the last meander of the winding road finally set in, I couldn't believe what I witnessed. "Hey!" I yelled from about forty feet apart, waving a hand at the first local I met here. Familiar hunter brown eyes met mine instantly. "Need some help?" °°°°°° "So, first the bathroom and now this. Who are you?" He asked. "Billy." I grinned, "Nice to meet you." "Fletcher." He reached out for a handshake, which I accepted. "So what's up with our pick up truck?" "Engine blew out. This thing is as old as this settlement. " He stated as he stood under the bonnet and stared, exhausted and frustrated, at the mechanical vasculature of his truck. "Where do you stay? Isn't it close by?" I asked. Eyes glues to his-everything. And oh if noses could have orgasms, mine was definitely running up that road. Fletcher screwed his head towards me. It was bulging. Only God knows what I was thinking. "I just live a few minutes North from here. Like ten." "Did you just say ten?" "Yeah why?" "Because," I started, "I'm like seven minutes away. " I stated having taken awkward pride at the first thought of speaking up. I imstantly regretted it. "Really?" I nodded, "So you're that new family huh." "Yep." "Cool." "Yeah cool." It then got awkward. "What do you say we drag this thing for seven minutes North from here?" How happy he looked! And how sad it is that he believed in this! Once again, he lost me. °°°°° "Oh Billy you're home." Mom exclaimed as she sat cuddled in the chair with dad, "But," she checked her watch, "You took quite a long time to sweep the area. I'm sure you're well conversant with the neighbourhood huh?" I stared at the woman for the third time today, speechless. What should I say? Nothing Good thinking brain. I just made for the stairs in fatigue. "Your room's at the end of the hallway!" Mom yelled. "Thanks!" Reaching, I found my junk was pretty much packed in already, bed was made. Even my fan girling posters were up and proud. Oh mother, what would i do without you?! I threw myself onto the bed instantly and closed my eyes, I let my mind wonder and imagine how I could survive this. The stars aren't aligned right now even though the constellation always proves true that I'm meant for the better half from the Universe. I sighed. Thereafter I reached out for my phone that was ingeniously placed under my pillow and anxiously waited for what was promised earlier that day. °°°°°°° Later that night, I received a phone call from my ride or die. I smiled. "Hey gworl." I started. "Hey bumshit, howyu?" I chuckled responding accordingly. Her slang-blended accent always got me. "So what's poppin?" "Nothing much Jo. I just came face to face with a Greek god. That's all, so fake. " I grinned through the phone, but trying to sound rather disinterested. Jo hummed sassily at me, snapping her finger ritualistically through the phone, "Now I know what's about to go down in them bushes and trees?" "You sound immature." I teased. "And you sound horny. Period point blank!" I unbelievably snorted. "What makes you think that every guy I meet up with I'd like to eat?" "Because you do! Now start acting like Mary Magdalene and go find that man, see what you can see, hear what you can hear, feel what you can feel then come back with the good news this time, got it?" "What makes you think that he'd like to eat me too? I'm skinny and I know it too well he isn't a late comer." "Then go eat some bush and gain weight. Simple!" "What if he isn't into guys?" "There's only one way to find out." "But," I started, "You know how it ended last time." The night suddenly felt darker and colder. There was a hiatus. "Girl, I don't want to hurt you okay? I'm just messing with you. Don't be doing bumshit and come blame it on me." "I know." I stated, "But what if he isn't into guys and I make him?" I lit up. "Just be careful." "I know. " I reaffirmed sounding down. Jo sighed. "But I want him." I softly confessed, "I swear I was bulging at the first glance." "Girl, you know it that the only way for you to let those feelings out is if you eat him or those feelings will eat you alive. Choose or die." "Thanks Jo. You're a real friend." I beamed sheepishly. "And you're in a new town. What do you have to lose?" I beamed more.
