“Nathan,” I said, blinking several times as I tried to clear my vision and look properly at him.
Could this day get any worse?
Of all the people I could have walked into, it had to be my crush.
Heat rushed to my face as embarrassment took over. He probably thought I was some complete klutz. I could usually walk through the school without crashing into anyone, but lately, my nerves had been a mess. Everything seemed to affect me more than it should.
“Are you hurt?” Nathan asked, looking closely at my forehead. “Did I hit you too hard?”
I touched the spot where our heads had knocked together. It hurt slightly, but nothing I couldn't handle.
I shook my head. “No. I'm okay.”
“You don't look okay.” He frowned. “Is something wrong?”
“I'm fine.”
The answer came too quickly.
