Pov Mirah
My body felt extremely hurt, my head laid on Pey's lap, I tried to dodge, but I did not have enough energy to even push it. I just wanted to leave the house no matter what might happen.
"Mr. Iman, Turn right, to Pertamina Hospital. The closest one" Pey's voice still sounded faint.
Pey, he carried my body, put me on a bed, the hospital lights were so blinding that my eye went dark, my head felt light. I saw Pey's hazy figure beside me, accompanied by two other people, but my eyes were too blurry to recognize them. I just want to sleep away from that house.

"According to the results from the lab, the baby seems to be around the age of 16-20 weeks. She’ll be assisted by an obstetrician to do an ultrasound check, to ensure the condition of the fetus. And because your wife is experiencing severe bleeding, she has to be here for a few days until her condition and the fetus returns to normal, "explained the doctor who examined Mirah.
"Alright doc, please help her. She was a little shocked by the death of his Dad." I tried to explain.
"The condition of pregnant women can vary, because of hormonal changes that significantly affect the feelings and physical health of pregnant women. It’s the responsibility of the husband and the closest persons, who can help the situation of the expectant Mom "I just kept quiet, listening to what the doctor had to say.
After taking care of everything needed, I returned to Mirah's infirmary, her body stuffed with needles, but her face was much calmer now. I just wanted to see her smile again just like before, that's all.

I'm getting ready to go to the office, I think, only work can get rid of all the turmoil I’ve been feel now. Hour after hour passed fast, it was almost time to go home from work, Aunt Ana entered the room after knocking on my door.
"Pey, I’m heading back home now. Anwyay, did Mirah like the flowers? I planned to ask it week ago, but I always forgot"
"Yes, she really liked it," I replied, giving a small smile.
"Her birthday is next week; you got a plan to buy her something?" asked Aunt Ana again.
"Mirah's birthday?" I asked.
"Yup, it's her birthday next week, and I bet, you don't know the exact date." She responded with a sarcastic look
“Ok, I'm leaving now, my husband is waiting at parking lot. Bye Pey, see ya tomorrow" she ended the conversation while walking out of the room.
At 8.23pm, I’ve done many tasks. I decided to contact Bi Asih to check on Mirah.
"Hello Bi?" I greeted her
"Yes, Sir.." she replied calmly
"How are things with Mirah, Bi?"
"Thank God, it is much better now. She started talking with me again” Bi Asih replied.
"Good, Auntie, please tell Teh Siti, I’m about to head off home. Prepare all my needs, I haven't had dinner yet"
"Yes, Sir"
"Thank you Bi, please pay attention to Mirah, don't let her do anything nonsense"
"Yes, Sir" she repeated.
I left the building with a small smile, hearing her condition improve. It truly calmed my heart.
At home, Teh Siti welcomed me at the door. It felt different this evening. Immediately after dinner and shower, I headed to my office. Aunt Ana's words this afternoon made me curious. So, I opened and checked the Mirah’s important document that I kept with me.
Yes indeed, I hold all important documents of ownership of Mirah, from her ID card, Passport, Diploma certificate to our marriage certificate. If you plan a huge revenge since a dozen years ago, you will pay attention to details including this one.
I opened our marriage book, I saw Mirah's face filled with a big smile, it's been a long time since I saw her with that expression on her face. I saw Mirah's birthday, May 7, almost a month after our marriage. I had no. It means last year everyone at home missed her birthday. Looks like, I have to give her something for her birthday this year, my smile broaden.

It feels like being in this hospital is much more comfortable than being at home. Seeing all faces of the nurses’ as they smile and greet me is definitely thousands of times better than seeing Pey's face. This morning an obstetrician took me for an ultrasound check. This is the first time I've done it, there was a little awkwardness at the beginning. When finished, I was given two noir photos of the little one, everything was starting to look much clearer, including her teeny-tiny nose, my heart felt warm.

I left the office at 7 this evening, a little sooner than usual because I want to get Mirah a bouquet of flowers. Hopefully the florists are still open at this hour.
At the hospital, I ran to Mirah's infirmary, almost half past nine at night. I saw Aunt Asih coming out of the ward.
"Bi ..." I shouted.
"Eh, Sir, Miss Mirah just fell asleep," explained Bi Asih
"That’s early. I hope, she gets some good sleep here" Bi Asih's smiled widen. "I just want to give this to her, Is there any vase here, Bi?" as I show her the flowers I just bought.
"Yes sir, just put it on the side table, I will later put it in the vase, I want to go out for a while, get some fresh air. I feel a little staying in the room."
"Sure, Bi,"
As I entered the ward, I could see Mirah sleeping so soundly. Her breath is so light, I could say now that she’s actually one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever known, her skin is like light crystals and so soft. Her eyes are bright-hazel colored, no wonder her ex called her Hazel. Her lips are full and pinkish, her nose is sweet and sharp. Maybe she's not as tall as Bella, but I believe that any man can be easily be hypnotized by her. She's the true definition of beauty. If, if only, had she not been the daughter of Sudirman Kusuma, these words would have been repeated for some time now.
Mirah moved a little, changing her sleeping position, making me a little surprised, I quickly headed to the small table beside her to put down the flowers I bought. On the table, I saw that there were two small polaroid-like photos, I wondered what it is. Mirah’s name is printed on it, with the number of weeks in the upper left corner of the photo, it looks like this is the result of an ultrasound check, especially there is a clear baby-shaped picture there. I looked at the photo carefully, the funny thing was I could not find a sense of revenge and anger, on the contrary only a feeling of warmth that slowly filled my chest.
Slowly, I took out my cellphone, took a couple photos of the ultrasound pictures, made sure there was no one to see me. Soon after that I put my cellphone in my coat pocket. Looked back at Mirah deeply, and hurried home.

In the office
“Aunt Ana, I’m gonna head off for lunch, I’ll be back a little because I want to find a gift" I said while approaching Aunt Ana to her desk.
"Okay Pey," she replied shortly.
"By the way, has Mirah ever told you things that she likes?" I asked her
Aunt Ana gave a small smile "Surprise her Pey, and please invite me if you want to arrange some surprise party"
"Okay," I left the office.
At the mall, I somehow entered a baby shop, I saw an elegant black-colored baby bouncer with a beautiful white circular line on its surface. Perfect, I thought.
"This one is 11 million seven hundred rupiah," said the clerk beside me.
"Ah yeah, I'm just looking around," I replied.
"Sure, Sir." The answer is short as he left to approach some other customers.
I don’t have much time and I have some work appointments after this. So, I’ve decided to get her a necklace with diamonds, surrounded by rubies, just like her name Mirah (in Bahasa Indonesia Mirah mean red).
I never once bought a present for Mirah. Though our marriage is not really a marriage, with a pair of very simple cheap rings that I chose for the wedding. Well, I hope she’ll like this necklace.

Bi Asih’s Pov
At the same time at the hospital
Neng Mirah's handheld me tightly, her eyes flooded with tears. How would my heart be able to withstand with all this, Neng Mirah is like my own little daughter. I’ve been taking care of her since her Mom passed. Even when her step Mom, Lina, came home I still took care of her and fed her with my own hands. How could her fate be this horrible, being married only to be hurt.
"Auntie, please help me,….please take all my important documents in Pey's desk drawer, he kept all of them there, but I was never able to find key. Please Auntie, only with all that I can run away and be fine" Mirah's voice hurt my heart.
"I will try, dear" I replied.
"You have to find it, Bi. Trying is not gonna be enough. I can't go back to that hell house anymore; I have to run away from this hospital. If I go back there, I have thin chance to get away and feel free again, Bi. Please help me, your daughter, Bi. Please" She begged me while shedding her tears. I can’t stand looking at her like this.
"Yes, dear. No worries, I will bring the document for you," nothing else can hurt her, I thought.

Mirah’s Pov
Today is my birthday, and my time at the hospital is running out, two more days I have to return home again, but Bi Asih still couldn’t find Pey's drawer key.
"Morning beautiful " Bi Asih greeted me from the front door of the room.
"Bibi!" I replied, smiling cheerfully.
"Bibi bring your favorite chicken porridge" Bibi replied to my greeting.
"Yayy, yummy ..." I greeted cheerfully.
"Anddddd. .." Bibi Asih mimicked the sound of drum rolls "tradaaaaaaaa, aunt's gift for her beautiful child" Bibi showed a medium sized brown envelope.
My eyes sparkled seeing it "that's my document, right Bi?"
I asked, she nodded in agreement, and then I jumped up and down in excitement, forgetting that the IV lines were still there.
I opened the envelope. All of my personal important documents were there, ID card, passport, my valuable papers, savings books and ATM cards from several banks. I hugged Bi Asih tightly.
"Thank you Bi, now I have to set the plan" I whispered.

Peyton’s Pov
I should head back home to change clothes, before visiting the hospital to see Mirah. When I got home, I saw Bi Asih who was supposed to keep Mirah standing behind me.
"Bi, how come you are here? Who is taking care of Mirah, Bi?" Aunt who had been turned away from me was surprised to see me behind her.
"You home earlier than usual, sir" she replied
"Yes, I want to go to the hospital, what are you doing at home?" I asked back. "Take some of Neng Mirah's clothes and as well as mine, Sir. Neng Mirah who told me to go home," she explained.
"Bi, please! I told you to take care of here. You know you can ask someone to take the clothes from home. What the hell!" I replied a little angry, suddenly my thoughts about Mirah wondered all over the places.
"Let’s head off to the hospital now, Mr. Iman. Take us to the hospital, now!" without having time to change. I hurried going to the hospital.
Arriving at the hospital, I ran fast toward the Mirah’s ward.
EMPTY!! None was there!
I approached the nurse who was on guard, "Excuse me, where is the patient from Jasmine VIP room signed in the Name of Mirah Kusuma?"
"The patient asked to go home this afternoon, sir, we’ve finished the administrative process today," explained the nurse.
"Damn it!!" my voice startled the her, I was really upset. Bi Asih just looked down and I could she tried to mute herself. I just stared at the small jewelry box that I planned to give her tonight.
On the way back home, I was quiet. Any word from Bi Asih or Mr. Iman’s mouth would f*****g easily trigger my anger.
