THIRD PERSON’s POV Alex shoved her books inside her locker and took a deep breath, trying to force aside the thoughts forming in her head. Sure, she was no model student back when she was still going to a public school in Chicago. Teachers hated her there, too, but they at least cut people some slack when it’s just the first day. Or, you know, learn to ignore? But here? Oh, boy. It was different. It was bad enough that the subjects aren’t familiar at all. Even more so that the professors are for some reason so mean and the students, meaner. Even if she was smart, that still doesn’t seem to give her any advantage at all.
