Chapter Four
At Westerville High School 🏫📚
In the restroom..
Sapphire asked lexi, who kept splashing water on her face, "what happened?"
lexi muttered, "nothing," turning to face sapphire, who nodded but kept quiet, adding, "your makeup is ruined."
Lexi took out a wipe from her face and muttered, "that dude isn't a good person." sapphire gave a raised brow and asked, "Which one?"
lexi replied, "The one who's more good-looking." Sapphire muttered, acting dumbfounded, "more?"
lexi called out, "jeez, Sapphire!" sapphire gave a light shrug and an expressionless look. lexi added, "I thought you were way smarter."
Sapphire rolled her eyes and said, "It seems you're no longer scared. i'm leaving." she continued heading out. lexi added dramatically, "I'm your best friend!"
Sapphire glanced at her weirdly, holding back laughter, and said, "i'm out." as she stepped out, she suddenly screamed in pain, holding her head, unable to walk due to dizziness.
"Sapp!" lexi called worriedly, rushing toward her. "what's wrong?"
"I don't know," sapphire replied dryly, still holding her head, which was throbbing in pain.
"Let me take you to the lounge, and i'll go call the others," lexi offered.
"No, don't worry. go call them. i'll go myself," sapphire added, resting on the wall.
"Fine, don't just go anywhere. wait for us here, okay?" lexi added assuringly, gently patting her before nodding.
Meanwhile, in the Anouncement hall..
"I will use the restroom," Ross muttered to Royal, who nodded. "sure, no problem," he added, his attention on the spokesperson.
It was said the spokesperson was the well-known reserved old ling. seeing him addressing all, it was more of an entertainment. to be honest, he had heard a lot about him and even felt a strange connection when they had all gotten up on the podium for introduction.
Speaking king of introduction, he thought as he turned towards her previous direction, but she wasn't there.
Meanwhile, back at the girls, who noticed Royal glance at them were quite surprised at first. they thought he really just had a pretty face, but wtf! he was a starr's, the one family which one wouldn't dare to offend.
They are much low-key than any wealthy and influential family, but it was a saying that the second heir, called Royal, could be addressed as the emperor - his name is well known in a cultivator world and among the few espers which had the duplicate ability.
His real power was the ability to control fire, while ross had a telekinesis skill right from birth. "she really has to know my background," Royal muttered, snapping his hand as everything became still.
"My time magic works as ever," he muttered with that, he teleported, not forgetting to add, "undo."
the restroom...
Sapphire parted her lips slightly, drawing out hair as her eyes were still shut; her body emitting the same light; her body was on fire.
"That light," ross, who was about to enter the boys' restroom, murmured softly as his eyes sighted the faint light coming from the restroom. just then, he took out his pendant, which emitted a red light.
"What's he up to?" he thought as he quickly linked through bond connection, which was used when they were in danger.
"Ross!" Royal groaned, noticing the signal before teleporting towards his direction.
"Dude, what's wrong?" Royal asked seriously as he appeared before ross, who nudged at him towards the direction of the female restroom.
"That light," royal muttered with widened eyes. "what the...? mission complete."
he added as a thought flashed through his mind before appearing at the female restroom with ross.
"lexi!" Sapphire called, noticing the presence of a person.
"lexi," Royal repeated, surprised. this time, it was sapphire who was filled with surprise as she tried opening her eyes but could only get a glimpse of royal's face, sighting him. she instinctively stepped back as lexi warning rang in her ears
"Isn't she the girl who left with that girl who was frightened at your presence?" Ross asked.
Royal nodded. "of course, she was the one who glared at me coldly when she noticed that lexi was scared of me."
"Come to think of it, his prey had a pretty name. should he say lexi my prey or prey lexi?"
As Royal placed a tip of his hand on sapphire forehead he added
as he yelled surpisedly "Hell so weak
"Pretty face, nice shape, but weak body - what a feast," Royal muttered. But this time, Ross's expression changed.
"What are you thinking?" he questioned. "What do you think?" Royal asked back with a grin.
"It better be, let's get it done then," Ross muttered as he added. "Not now," Royal said suddenly, quickly stopping him and causing Ross to be in a trance.
"Why are you stopping me?" he questioned. "Or did you take pity on her?" he asked again, this time with a rising doubt appearing in his heart.
His brother was known as heartless, and he only took his mom to heart, but never showed mercy most times. "I didn't change," Royal added, cutting his train of thought.
"Neither did I have pity for her," he stated as Ross sighed silently. "But we can't have the fairy mark now," he added, and Ross glanced at him in surprise.
"Why is that?" Ross questioned. "It hasn't been awakened," Royal explained.
"So, are you planning on helping her awaken it?" Ross asked. "That I won't do," Royal muttered, shaking his head.
"She is destined to die. When did you become this merciful?" Ross asked. "When? I am not," Ross replied.
"Awakening the fairy spirit would destroy the fairy mark, and we won't have anything," Royal replied.
"Hmm, was she destined to live longer, or was it the fairy spirit?" Royal added. "Her luck isn't great," he said as Ross shook his head.
"I bet she was born to die. Should I say she was quite lucky?" Royal asked, shaking his head. "Perhaps her destiny was a very miserable one," Royal added with a shrug.
"We can't allow her to die. How about helping her?" Ross suggested. "Her friends would do that," Royal countered as Ross glared at him.
"She won't survive it," Royal added before gritting his teeth and holding her shoulder roughly as he teleported.
"That Ross," he thought with a heavy sigh, unlike Ross, who just closed his eyes, activating a void formation to clear everything that had happened at the time of their presence.
"Sorry, lady, we can't help it," Ross muttered, feeling a bit guilty.
The fairy had always had the best magical power and was also the greatest rival of the witches' clan. His mom's greatest fear was to see her achievement destroyed, and she had put her life into that.
Royal, being an inheritor of the Dao demonic heart, needed the power of a great spirit. If not, when found, he would be in dual danger. Not just that, the demon clans were always known to be arrogant, and if Royal became hunted, the world wouldn't be saved.
"Isn't it better that a soul is lost than the world and your loved ones?" a voice said in his head as Ross closed his eyes.
"More better, that soul is a descendant of your mother's greatest enemy," the voice continued as Ross remained still before disappearing.
He clenched his fist before heading in the other direction. "The movement of the Delvaire siblings needs to be watched, and their so-called missing sister," he thought.
{ Restroom...}
Lexi, Tanya, Dani, and Chloe returned to the exact location where Lexi had left Sapphire, but she was nowhere to be found. Their worry intensified as they searched the surrounding area.
"She wouldn't just disappear," Lexi said, self-blame creeping into her voice. "I should've taken her to the lodge directly."
Chloe attempted to use her time magic, but it didn't work. "The announcement's still going on; our powers are sealed."
As they stood there, unsure of what to do next, Chloe suddenly stumbled upon Ross, Royal's twin brother. "Sapphire's alright," Ross said calmly.
The friends exchanged skeptical glances. "How do you know?" Dani asked.
Ross shrugged. "Just trust me."
Meanwhile, Sapphire was with Royal, still recovering from the energy transfer. As Royal finished, Sapphire's eyes fluttered open, and she whispered, "Mother...don't go." Royal's eyes blazed with red flames as he transferred the last of his inner magic.
Sapphire's weakness began to fade, replaced by a refreshing flow. As she looked around, Sapphire's confusion turned to shock. "Where am I?" "We're in my apartment," Royal replied.
Sapphire's eyes widened as she recognized the surroundings. She turned to face Royal, surprise and fear mingling on her face. Without a word, she turned and ran out.
Royal watched her go, a mix of emotions on his face. "No thanks, no gratitude...just like her friend" he muttered.
