Chapter Four Sappho’s First Assignment There were over 50 people on the Mission. Some, of course, were Aircrew, but there were a great many Technical Specialists of one discipline or another. Beyond that, the personnel who caught Sappho’s eye were a contingent later-described as ‘Close Protection Officers’. These men were former Special Forces Operatives and she was to learn that they were drawn, principally, from the British Army, the Australian and New Zealand Armies.
