Chapter Ten – After the Fire The battlefield was a graveyard of smoke and ash. The flames that had licked the forest still hissed faintly, dying under the combined efforts of Crescent Moon wolves. The stench of burned wood and blood clung to the air, thick enough to choke. Bodies—rogues and pack alike—littered the ground, some already being carried toward the healer’s wing.
