At The Hospital Part 1

Diana was dreaming. She was pulled into a dance by Michael, both were smiling and there were elegant decorations, and square confetti all around them, in their hair and on Michael's tuxedo jacket. He caressed each side of her face before lowering his mouth to hers. "God, I love you, Diana." He whispered. "I want to show you off in Hawaii." She hooked a finger underneath Michael's bowtie and pulled him towards her when he ended the first kiss. He lowered his head in agreement. His mouth found hers again. Passionately and respectfully. With that, Diana opened her eyes and took in her surroundings. She was in the hospital. Her right hand was attached to an IV drip. Allison. Allison tried to kill her. It was then that she saw Noah was right beside her. "Hey beautiful. How are you feeling?" He asked gently, opening his eyes before gripping her hand, the one that lacked the IV against his mouth. Diana could see the worry and sorrow remaining in his eyes. Did he cry over her? This was how it should be. Her boyfriend beside her. "I've never been so embarrassed." Noah laughed. "Yeah, well, the only good part about it is that Boss of yours said to take as much time as you need to recover. He refuses to lose his best secretary. That boss of yours said he'll be checking on you soon." He remarked. Noah watched as she struggled to wipe her lips. "Are you thirsty?" Diana nodded her head and Noah stood up after placing a tender kiss on the back of her hand. "I'll be back. 7up soda okay?" He lowered his mouth to hers but Diana turned away. He smiled and kissed her on her head. Diana leaned up in the hospital bed. After he had gone, her mother appeared. "Well, look who's up. You're still very good at lying, I see. I bet you had this all planned out, you little s**t. It's not enough that you have that wonderful Noah by your side. But now I heard from Allison that there is another man worshipping the ground you walk on. Imagine my surprise! It's a shame you couldn't be more like Allison! By God, if your Father were here he would have straightened you out." Diana crossed her arms over her chest. "Your beloved daughter tried to kill me. She knew I was allergic to shrimp and if it wasn't for Noah and Mr. Salvatore thought as fast as they did, I would be dead." Susan laughed. "Always exaggerating. I bet you added the shrimp yourself because you just have to be the center of attention." Diana would not let her win. Diana decided to continue, clearly showing her persistence. "Your perfect daughter always had one night stands by the time she was 16, and an abortion by the time she was 18 and now look, she's not married and has a 14 month old baby boy and you DARE to say I'm the problem? You're insane." Diana was infuriated. "You two are unbelievable. No matter what Allison does, you take her side! I'm not the monster in this equation!" Susan shut her mouth. "Why you little bitch." She said after a moment. Susan stepped forward and slapped Diana hard across her face. "I wish you had died so I would only have her. You could never measure up to her accomplishments." Diana placed her hand over her burned cheek. Tears started to fall from her eyes. "You know I used to wonder what I did that caused my own mother to despise me. I just don't care anymore. You were never a mother to me." Susan went to slap her again when a hand gripped her wrist tightly. "Touch her again and I don't care if you are her mother, I'll break your wrist." Diana stared in awe. Michael was visiting and he defended her! No one has done that since her father. He looked over Diana to make sure she was unharmed. Seemed he got there a bit too late. He saw a side of her face that held a red mark. "Leave now. Before I get angry." He warned. Michael let go of Susan's wrist and she stumbled backwards a bit. "Since you've become this guy's little s**t, you should let Allison have Noah. This one," She replied pointing to Michael, "will get you pregnant and then leave you. But then again, I always did say Allison was worthy of Noah." She said coldly towards her daughter. Susan smirked. "Who knows, Diana. Maybe this guy will give you your just desserts. A couple of bruises would do you some good." Michael's eyes widened in shock at Diana's Mother's indication. How can a Mother speak that way to her own daughter, or even think of such a scenario? Michael wanted to return that slap she gave Diana. He wouldn't hurt Diana or any woman! Susan smiled. "Just remember, my dear, men want desirable women who can perform in the bedroom, not a Goddamn moralist who doesn't know the first thing about pleasing her man." With that, Susan huffed. There was no way she was letting Diana off the hook. Diana was always going after Allison. "This is between my daughter and me." Diana put her head in her hand, closing her eyes. She was embarrassed. Mr. Salvatore didn't need to know that. Opening them, she saw Michael's eyes. Oh God, he was beyond angry. He was, without a doubt, furious. His jaw was set. Michael spoke. His voice was calm and deadly. "Not anymore. You have three seconds to get the hell out before I throw you out." He replied in a cold voice, pointing towards the door. "And believe me, I'll enjoy it." Susan looked into his eyes. He wasn't kidding. Diana's Mother's insinuation was fresh in his mind as he saw her retreating form. Diana never slept with Noah. That thought alone made him ecstatic. Michael's eyes burned. He wouldn't dare to blink long as she was near the room. When she was gone, Michael looked back at Diana, his eyes softened. "Are you okay?" He asked, delicately while moving instantaneously close to her to examine the dark peach mark on her cheek. Diana could see the emotion change in his eyes. She saw the concern. She nodded her head. "Yes, thanks to you, Mr. Salvatore." It was then that Diana saw Michael was dangerously handsome in his charcoal gray suit, a blue gray shirt and striped tie. Not that she would ever tell him. His arrogance was already bothersome. That dream was affecting her! Michael leaned over and caressed the side of Diana's face which was slapped. He took the seat beside her. "So want to tell me how this whole episode occurred? I remembered you only ordered a house salad. That wouldn't cause an allergic reaction." Diana sighed, lowering her hands interlocking her fingers. "How long do you have? It's a long story, Mr. Salvatore."
