Chapter 10 Restock Nothing changed even after talking about their most recent relationships. But Elvin, not wanting to dig up any more dirty, buried secrets avoided all talks about the past. Instead, he decided that they best broach a topic about the future. “So, would you say you’re living your dream?” Elvin asked. “Not yet,” Eve said, as expected. “I have a lot of things I need to do. So much. But at the moment, I try not to think about it.” “Why not?” Eve smiled. “Because we’re observing a lockdown.” They both laughed. “Right,” Elvin said. “So, what about you?” Eve inquired. “Would you say you’re living your dream?” Elvin shook his head. “Not in the slightest.” He sipped from his drink. “Sometimes, I think getting so much money is the goal, but with so much money, there’s still usually so much missing. I can’t say I have money. No. I’m struggling, and basically have to work every day to feed and all, but sometimes, I yearn for satisfaction. Amidst reaching my dreams, which are close to being reached, I want someone who really loves me, and that’s really coming late. At one point, I stopped searching. I thought, let her find me. But I guess it’s a push and pull thing. You have to be looking to be found.” “Not necessarily. Some people were never searching when love found them. So, it has nothing to do with that.” Elvin gave a side head gesture. “So, I see you’ve not had any bulge in your trouser for some hours now,” Eve said. “Are you beginning to find me less attractive?” Elvin laughed, and the bulge appeared in his shorts. “No. You don’t want to know my initial opinion about you. There’s no way I would think you less attractive.” “Tell me.” “Are you sure?” “I promise, I won’t take offense.” “Okay. I thought you were a whore.” He watched her surprised expression, and quickly, she graced a smile on her face. “I know, I know,” Elvin said, “but you were so good the first night we laid together that I feared the worst. Corporate workers are usually boring, and that’s the way you first appeared to me. Boring. Just some regular lady and all. But when we went home together, the s*x, the lust, and eagerness to break new grounds each time we reached our destined heights, it all made me wonder. I just thought, no one could be this good.” “But we kissed.” “I know.” “Whores don’t kiss,” she said. “Oh. I wouldn’t know,” he said, giving her a look. Eve laughed. “You’re silly. Women hear stories, you know. We gossip a lot.” That was agreeable, but Elvin didn’t say it. Instead, he said, “So do guys. Our talks about the female gender do seem to be nasty.” Eve laughed. “So is ours about guys.” “Do you gossip?” “Only with my sister.” *** Oh my. She had released a vital piece of information she wasn’t supposed to. She hoped Elvin didn’t read too much into it. Maybe he was reading too much into it. His silence was saying so. “Forgive me,” Elvin said. “I sometimes fall short of what to say before pretty ladies.” “A lady you fuck.” “Hey,” he said, putting up a hand in defense. “I didn’t say it like that. Besides, what we shared, although wild, had so much intimacy in it. I could call the beautiful moments if you want me to. True, you haven’t whispered my name, or said whatever, but when I ride in you slowly, I feel the world stop. I won’t call that f*****g. Not sure I know what to call it.” “A connection?” she asked. “I think so. Yes. A connection. Only, I don’t think you’d believe me, but I’ve never had wild moments with any other person, save for you—” “And your ex?” Her sister, but she didn’t say it. “Yes. Although, hers was brief. It was really sweet with her. The games and all, even though I wasn’t sure of them all. I only indulged her in everything because she always threatened to leave me. I think that was one of the reasons why she never told me her name. Sometimes, I think she was just using me to catch fun, and other times, I think she was very genuine. It was difficult to read her, as it is difficult to read you. And girls like you, I’ve learned, are very dangerous.” He was wise to believe that. “And still, you never stay away.” He had come to her. She hadn’t come to him. She had simply sat there that day at the bar, knowing he would come. It’s a pity he couldn’t recognize her. “No,” Elvin said with a grin. “I never learn to stay away. I think I like the mystery. It keeps the lady interesting. A girl that’s easy to read can become boring real quick. But a girl with the air of mystery around her, so far she’s not a psychopath, I think she’s interesting.” Eve laughed. “Psychopath! Ever dated one?” “No, but a friend has. He said she chased him out of the house with a knife when he refused to have s*x with her.” She laughed out loud. “I guess he began to love the-really-easy-to-love kind of girls.” “He was always the kind of guy to go after that kind of girl. Always. But, things backfired, I guess.” He feared her kind of girl. That seemed comforting to hear. He didn’t know, or remember her truly. How could he, when half the girls in the school had his attention? *** Eve took to her feet, and Elvin found his gaze locked with her delicate legs, and beautiful form concealed behind his shirt. “I hope the government will let us restock quite soon,” Eve said. “We are almost out of food.” “I guess so,” Elvin said, feeling his s*x straining achingly against the flyer of his trouser. “Yeah. We’ll need to restock.” More like, we need to have s*x again.
