The blue eyes vanished before I could even draw a full breath, they disappeared into the dark as though they'd never been there at all.
I took a careful step toward the tree line, curiosity took the better of me and there was a pull I felt there despite every warning bell going off in my chest, some part of me needing to know rather than simply going back into the house to stay safe.
“Don't follow him,” Astra said sharply,
