Flora’s POV Moonlight filtered through the branches as I slipped silently along the edge of the clearing. My heart pounded so hard I thought it might burst through my chest. Every step felt heavy, burdened by the memory of Elijah’s gentle touch and the ache of his betrayal. I had given him my trust and my heart and he had discarded both for another.
