"Well, this is awkward."
Ivy wanted to throw herself into a nearby bush.
Not because Madison had done anything wrong.
Madison was perfectly nice.
That was the problem.
If Madison had been rude, arrogant, or secretly running an underground villain organization, this would have been much easier.
Instead, she smiled warmly.
Like a reasonable human being.
Disgusting.
"Asher." Madison approached with her coffee cup. "Fancy seeing you again."
Asher smiled politely.
"Hey."
Ivy immediately hated how normal that sounded.
Hey.
Just hey.
Not even nervous.
Not even awkward.
Meanwhile she was internally reenacting every disaster movie ever made.
Madison's attention shifted toward Ivy.

That look.
That suspiciously knowing look.
