Episode 16 -> FAILURE

(Sora wakes up in a school with a middle aged black haired woman standing in front of him)

Mitsu : You look a lot like him but little like her

Sora: Who are you? 

Mitsu : Mitsu Render. I'm Saki's mother

Sora:And my mother's best friend 

Mitsu: We were more than friends. She is my sister by friendship. Now I see it,  you have her eyes but does that mean you see things the way she does? 

Sora: What are you talking about? 

Mitsu: Never mind you will not understand. 

Sora: Where am I? 

Mitsu: You are in my school, Gifted

Sora:i have to go back. I can't let him fight Saito alone 

Mitsu: I'm afraid I can't let you go.  This place is covered with a special barrier. Not even Saito can break it but you are welcomed to give it a try

Sora: We'll see about that (pulls out his scythe and starts to attack the barrier in attempt to break it . He hurls shadow blast at it but the barrier absorbs it)

Mitsu: Are you done? 

Sora: Undo this barrier 

Mitsu: She didn't teach you any manners before she died? Don't worry that can be corrected (she throws a punch at him but Sora easily deflects it and she counters with a swing kick but Sora blocks it with his hand and throws her off balance. He tries to hit her back but steps back. He noticed that she placed marks in front of her and if he had stepped in one of those marks she would have won the fight)  You have keen senses. My husband trained you well. If we continue this there's no way you would win this fight 

Sora: I wouldn't know unless I try. Even if I fail today I will try again tomorrow.  I will never give up till I get my revenge 

Mitsu: You talk too much.  It's time for you to sleep (snaps her fingers and Sora falls to the ground sleeping. Her assistant April comes close to where they were) 

April: You could have done this from the beginning but you chose to weigh his strength 

Mitsu: He is really strong. If he wasn't holding back he could have defeated me 

April : So this is Sora Render

Mitsu: We are about to get our hands occupied

(Saito stands in front of Sage Takashi with a sword to his throat. Sage Takashi was defeated and about to be killed by Saito if someone doesn't save him) 

Saito: I have always wanted to kill you. You were among the people that despised my existence just because I can't control shadows. How does it feel knowing you are about to die, old man? 

Sage Takashi: It is not death that a man should fear, but he should fear never beginning to live and Saito you have never began to live

Saito: Stupid old man trying to sound cool. You are a failure. You have failed as a father, as a teacher, as a Sage and you are the worst Shadow Guardian in history 

Sage Takashi: End it already but hear this,  Sora will defeat you

Saito: I can't wait for that to happen. Say hi to Seth for me (thrusts the sword to his throat slicing it open. He sits down next to his corpse exhausted. Saito hears someone coming and makes a run for it through his portals.  Time falls to the ground in tears.  She pulls Takashi's dead body close in an embrace.  Rain starts to fall. Even the sky is crying.  Two days later Takashi is laid to rest. Time informs Mitsu of his death) 

Tsume: He's dead. Saito has managed to take another one from us

Mitsu: I see.  Has he been buried? 

Tsume: Yes,  we did that yesterday 

Mitsu: How is the Realm? 

Tsume: Traumatized and scared.  They need a Guardian.. Someone they could rely on for their safety 

Mitsu: It is expected but I can't be that someone you know that

Tsume: You are the only one left of the old generation and the only one who has a chance against him

Mitsu: I have a responsibility here. I can't leave my school. 

Tsume: Then bring the school here. You can protect the realm and protect the school at the same time 

Mitsu: I understand you guys are desperate at this moment but don't forget if I bring these kids to the Realm it won't be Saito that will kill them but they Realm. And I took an oath to protect them with my life 

Tsume: We are working on something that could protect outsiders from the Realm 

Mitsu : I hope it doesn't fall into the wrong hands cause that can leave the Realm subject to invasion 

Tsume: It will also be capable of blocking the visitor's ability 

Mitsu: Okay that's really brilliant 

Tsume: This is your home. Your family needs you

Mitsu: This kids are also my family.  Stop making this harder than it already is 

Tsume: I'm sorry.  I lost control of my emotions. How's Sora doing? 

Mitsu: I put him to sleep. Probably gonna wake him up and tell him about Takashi. Sora is such a handful 

Tsume: Can you ask him to become our protector,  please? 

Mitsu: You and I know that the only thing Sora thinks about right now is revenge and there's no way he will accept to your offer.  But I will talk to him

(A portal leading back to the school appears and Mitsu walks into it.  She makes her way to the room Sora is locked in and opens the door but he is already awake) 

Sora: Come to let me out? 

Mitsu: Only if you agree to my terms. Sage Takashi is dead

Sora: (falls to his knees crying)  It's all my fault... 

Mitsu: It's not your fault Sora

Sora: If I was there things would have been different

Mitsu: Yeah things would have been different. Saito would be in possession of the Death Scythe and the Sage and you will be dead. Stop crying cause this is not the time for tears.  The Realm wants you to be their Guardian 

Sora: I have no desire to be such

Mitsu: I don't doubt that.  But mostly cause you can't protect them. I get it,  it is not something anyone could do

Sora: I lowest you are trying to do but the answer is still no

Mitsu: What am I trying to do? 

Sora: You are trying to use your words to lute me into proving to you that I can become a better Guardian than Uncle Seth and Sage Takashi but you failed

Mitsu: You are not dumb after all.  I'm glad you feel like you can be better than them that means there's still hope for you in the future. Take the time in here to reflect on what you want to do with your life.  Revenge is not always the answer.  Goodbye Sora

Kevin: Do you really have to leave? 

Saki: Yes I do

Kevin: At least stay til Josh gets punished for his crimes

Saki: I don't enjoy torture or watching people getting punished. (she leaves the city and opens a portal that leads to Gifted.  She walks into the portal and at the other end the portal opens inside the school compound. Saki's portal is the only registered portal that can enter and leave the school without interference from the barrier. She makes her way to her mother's office,  knocks on the door and was welcomed inside) 

Saki: Hey mama

Mitsu: I thought you've forgotten all about me. Is the organization demanding more than you expected? 

Saki: Nah.  It's fine.  I just completed my first mission 

Mitsu: Oh,  how did it go? 

Saki: It went smooth... 

Mitsu: Got any leads? 

Saki: Saito was the one that opened the organization....

Mitsu: What? 

Saki: (shows her the pictures she got from Josh)  Our leader is his lapdog

Mitsu: Damn he seems to be ahead of us at every step

Saki: I bet he didn't know I will find out and I will use it against him. 

Mitsu: Be careful 

Saki: Sure thing mama.  By the way I heard about the Sage from Miss Tsume

Mitsu: Yes he is gone. Oh and Sora is here 

Saki: What is he doing here? 

Mitsu: The sage wants him to stay here so he can socialize with kids his age and maybe they will rub off on him in a positive way

Saki: That will never work

Mitsu: Don't be too sure.  By the way I want you to talk to him. 

Saki: Why should I talk to him? 

Mitsu: He blames himself for his death

Saki: He doesn't blame himself for Papa's death but knows that it is his fault the pervert kicked the bucket...  There is no way I'm talking to him

Mitsu: Watch your mouth Saki

Saki: Sorry mama but I will not talk to Sora

Mitsu: Please Saki.... 

Saki: Fine,  I will talk to him

Mitsu: Thank you. So what brought you here? 

Saki: I'm planning on taking down the Hunters with a friend and after that I want to bring him here

Mitsu: Is he your boyfriend? 

Saki: f**k no.  Ew mama! 

Mitsu: No cussing 

Saki: I'm sorry 

Mitsu: Who's this friend of yours since he's not your boyfriend 

Saki: Ken Dante. He is also part of the organization 

Mitsu: What makes you think he's not aware that he is working for Saito?  This is too much risk.  I can't afford to put my kids into danger

Saki: You always tell me to be optimistic right mama? 

Mitsu: This is not just about being optimistic Saki. Other people's lives are at stake

Saki: For that reason I should be optimistic that he doesn't know he is working for Saito  and I will take measures to certify he is not a threat

Mitsu: Seriously what is this boy to you that you are fighting for a place here for him.  You don't even know if he would want to stay here

Saki: He is just a friend and I bet you he will love being here (smirks) 

Mitsu: Bring him here in three weeks 

Saki: Why can't I bring him tomorrow? 

Mitsu: Cause I won't be around 

Saki: Where are you going? 

Mitsu: I'm going to The Underworld Realm

Saki: What for? 

Mitsu: To get my new student, Ruby Morningstar

Saki: Enjoy your trip. I gotta go
