The Start and the Meeting

"Woah!" George exclaimed upon coming inside the agency that only he could do in his vague dream. He couldn't help but have his eyes formed into big hearts with as bright as the sun as it shone in excitement or also because of how shiny this huge area he was in was. Apparently, no matter how huge the area was, it felt empty, especially that he was the first one to arrive at the place. He walked toward the side where there were shining metal benches that seemed to be always cleaned by the helper of the agency that was what George had been dreaming of before. He put down his huge bags where his belongings were packed inside, though he didn't really need them as the briefing of Hermes when he was accepted last week was only to bring himself and everything would be provided, he still did just in case he would be thrown out of the agency because of his weakness. He sat on the bed, a little hesitant as his clothes even looked dustier than the bench, but did it nevertheless. According to Hermes, today he would be meeting the rest of the people that he recruited, he was the last one to be recruited, actually, he wasn't supposed to be there if not only for his insistence and persistence, he wouldn't make it. He even had to follow the man to wherever he went to with the use of the skater shoes that he borrowed, and because of the man's annoyance, he was accepted half-heartedly, but he still had the chance to prove himself so that was fine at all. He looked at the door when it opened, causing him to squint his eyes because of the bright light that came with the person that made it hard to see the face at first. But as soon as it closed, he saw a girl standing by the door—she had specs on, clueless of what she was doing there, but her walk was firm as she approached him. "Is this the training room?" she asked with a low and stern voice that was just her usual voice. George simply nodded, feeling kind of inferior because this girl looked athletic and strong. She also looked smart by her specs and the laptop bag in her hand with her phone showing a mind game that she had been playing earlier. They didn't talk anymore and just waited which was favorable for both of them. It seemed that they both didn't like to converse with anyone and were naturally silent as they did not found awkwardness within them but only ignored each other. The others started coming one by one, a thin boy with obvious marks and bruises on his body came that made them looked at him in curiosity and worry, he seemed to be aggressive by his wounds that made them the surmise of this boy wanting to be in the fights always, but with his cheerful smile and even with a wave of his thin arms, plus the greetings with his soft and high voice, he didn't seem to be like what they thought of him. "Hi! I'm Lance!" he greeted them, then sat beside George and started to have a conversation which George found kind of awkward, all coming from him. Then two women came, one had a strong aura, she had red hair, taller than the girl she was with which only leveled on her shoulder, she was like ice, her expression was stoic, but the way she looked was like a fire, and her overall appearance was indeed a hot girl. But even though she was hot, her beauty was nothing compared to the girl beside her. She was the epitome of a goddess, and it came by her name—Hera. She was a white, light brown, doe-eyed girl who had a kind and sweet smile darted to everyone. She had innocent beauty, fair skin, long, wavy, brown hair, long-legged, and perhaps perfect wasn't an exaggeration. She basically caught everyone's eyes, and even girls couldn't help but stare at her. Leira rolled her eyes upon seeing their stunned expression, "Eye-catcher already, stay away from me. I want to have a peaceful journey in here." This made Hera frowned as she shook his head, "Since the time you saved me and we're both cast here, you're basically stuck with me. This is fate, we're destined to be with each other!" "Sounds like bad luck brought by that bread and the fools that night," the other replied casually as she sat next to the girl who was busy with whatever she was doing on her laptop, she was getting dizzy with the moving symbols so she tore her eyes away from prying on her business. "You're so mean," Hera complained with a pout, but it didn't stop her mouth from conversing with "Anyway, I'm excited with this one. I have always heard about this agency and the good that they do, so I hope I get to be stronger in this." "Don't be a hypocrite, Hera, we agreed here because when the old man told us about not minding the expenses and we don't need to beg if he didn't tell that to us, we wouldn't be here." Hera went silent, but she nodded in full agreement. That indeed was the reason why they agreed, the last time that the man persuaded Leira, he didn't say all of those benefits that were why he refused, but upon mentioning the advantages under his care, then without any more hesitation, they agreed. There were other people to enter the place, and they all realized that they weren't the only ones chosen by the owner himself. There were a lot of them. The last one to enter the place was a guy with a boyish smile, his hands inside his jeans' pockets, walking like a guy full of air in his head—no offense— and a guy who seemed to be up to no good because of his physique and the mischief in his eyes. There were different emotions inside as no one else came inside the place anymore, they were all ready to think what would come next, and they couldn't think of any positive things now as they were all filled with excitement, admiration, nervousness, anxiousness, and such. They were all doubtful of what might happen to them inside this infamous agency. After a while of waiting and exchange of conversation to the people they were next with, that they basically know each other's name now but surely would be forgotten as the time goes by as they all went occupied to whatever was going to happen and the previous conversation would now in need of refreshments because of the things that were about to happen. After waiting for a little more while, the door once again opened. And as usual, as the initial reaction that these new comers had expected, they received simultaneous noises of awe and amazement. Apparently, the people who had just come in were the agents that they had been waiting for, and the squeals and noises had just come louder upon realizing that they were not just simple agents, they were the agents who were mostly seen in the news, in television who were reported to be once again in action, the agents who were no ordinary—top agents as Hermes called them. Hermes was also in there along with them, he was basically leading them while the six came in one by one and lined up behind him. The top agents were costumed with their own color's trench coats and masks, they were escorting a strong and dark aura that was enough to push people away, and so the rest of them stayed from where they were, admiring the people which seemed to star in front of them. "Good morning," Hermes spoke, greeting all of them to which they replied with a croaky good morning back, "There's no need to be nervous-" "Lie," they heard one man on the very left with a black trench coat and mask remarked with a playful voice. "Shut it, Black," the girl with a forest green trench coat chided and nudged the man beside him. "Please continue, sir." "As I was saying, you do not have to be nervous. You'll just have to run a few tests-" "Tests means death." It was the girl with a purple trench coat this time, making them flinch because of what she said. She seemed to like the reaction she got from them, but by the bump on her shoulder from the girl with the brown coach had made her stop from laughing inwardly. "Stop interrupting me if you do not want me to come back on leading the agency," Hermes said threateningly without looking at them, head straight toward the recruits. "You are going to run a test to know what your strengths are and who do you belong to. These colorful people right here," He pointed to the top agents behind him who groaned silently by what he called them. The recruits all looked at the top agents intently, listening with all their priority to the new environment that they were going to deal with for the rest of their lives if they would be fortunate enough to be accepted potentially and fully to be part and useful to the agency. "The top agents would be your teachers. They would be choosing their students based on their vitals and the results of the exams that the watchers would show them. They would also watch you if they have no tasks at hand to personally pick their choice. You don't have to choose who would you like to lead you, they were all the same in strengths and weaknesses, they just differ in physical appearance but they were all good." "Who would you choose?" Hera asked through a whisper in Leira's ear. The latter rolled her eyes and replied in annoyance, "He just literally said a while ago that we do not choose who would lead us. Why are you even asking me that?" Hera just grinned, "If we are to choose, who would you like to be with?" Leira huffed at her persistence, she looked at the top agents in front and see who would catch her attention. Her eyes then landed right on the woman with the purple trench coat, she looked girly, but and all, but she knew she was one of those who shouldn't be looked upon the appearance. "The purple one." "Really? I like her too! Or I could also go to the gold girl. She looks elegant and pretty even on the outside. I hope I would be under her care," she said while looking dreamily at the girl with the gold trench coat. Leira just rolled her eyes and listened to the man again who was discussing about how the choice would be done. Until he was done, everyone was silent, not until his last words echoed into the whole training area. "Let the tests begin!" Series of balls came from the wall and the ceiling fell right onto them.
