MAEBefore I could run in there and break Damon away from that boy myself, Samuel grabbed my arm and pulled me out of the training area, his eye still black from the other day when Damon smashed it in. “Mae, you shouldn’t be here.”
Over the cracking of the ropes and the searing of skin, I sobbed for that boy who I knew nothing about. “Samuel! We have to stop this. Please, help me stop this!”
I tried to pull away, wanting to run to Damon to try to stop him, but Samuel held me back and continued down the moonflower path.
