“Hey Lil Bum.” I smiled at Stefanos voice as it came down the phone. I wasn’t even sure when he had started calling me Lil Bum, but it didn’t matter. It made me feel warm inside every time he did.
“Hey.” I smiled down the phone. “No face time today?” He has been checking in every night since I had gotten out the hospital. And to be honest it was the only thing that kept me going. His calls kept me grounded when I would have been to much in my head otherwise. Still I couldn’t wait to actually see him. What ever “job” he was doing for Luca couldn’t have come at a worse time.
I needed him. He was my rock.
“Not today baby girl, it’s not a pretty sight.” He gave a small laugh, sounded relaxed and happy. “Plus I’ll be home tonight,”
