That’s all it said , there was no name there didn’t have to be. I knew the number because I had been the one to give her the burner phone. Just in case.
Just in case she needed to get hold of me in an emergency. And it must be serious otherwise she would never think to use it.
Which meant I had to get home.
Glancing down at Lily’s sleeping form , I let my eyes follow the tanned line of her back ,and down one bare leg where she had kicked the sheets off.
This wasn’t enough time.
Yes I had sealed the deal, in more ways than one but it still wasn’t enough. She wasn’t truly mine yet and I knew it. She didn’t believe me when I said forever.
Maybe I didn’t believe it either. After all how much forever did a man like me have?
But still, what choice did I have.
