Chapter One - Jackson - Falling

Corra McClairy was pretty average, she wasn’t the kind of person you took a second look at, In Fact she liked it that way . she worked her a*s off for everything whether it be sports or school. If it wasn’t for her doing Track and field with me and the boys last year, I would have never talked to her. She had dirty blonde hair with natural streaks of white and red in it, forest green eyes, with tan skin, and she was always in a baggy gray sweatshirt that was way too big for her. Every time she spoke you could still here a hint of her southern accent. She’s really strong, bullheaded, And won’t let anybody push her around. The night our madness started, the team and I were walking back to the locker room after warm ups, when Tank split off to talk to her. I stopped to wait for him when I noticed she was walking with a guy, I could smell his stench around her, and to be truthfully honest it pissed me off. He had the perfect figure for a good QB, he also looked really familiar but I couldn’t place him. Tank and her started to have a conversation and the guy moved in closer to her, resting his chin on her head and wrapping his arms around her. Every part of me wanted to shift right there and rip his head clear off his shoulders. He was dressed in all black and his hair was all scraggly. As the conversation continued his hands grasped her tighter and he whispered in her ear, I started for him, when she stomped on his foot and headed or the ticket booths. I was pissed and was about to kill the guy when Tank dragged me into the building. “Who was that.” I said trying to hide the anger in my voice “A friend apparently.” He looked at me and his eyes just screamed not to talk about it. But that didn’t change the fact that I wanted to kill the guy. “You could just claim her and this wouldn’t happen.” I stared him down “ it’s not like you haven’t imprinted on her dude. Most of us claim our mates as soon as we find out.” “You know I can't.” “You could your just have some weird a*s block keeping you from doing it.” “Will you just f**k off.” “Fine But I have to get something at her house later for Dazzy you cool with that.” “Ya i can give you a ride.” “Thanks. The hole game I found myself searching for her, to make sure she was okay, but I couldn’t find her in the stands. Tank and I hurried to get over to her house because she couldn’t wait long. She lived deep in the woods on lake smith and to say her father was loaded is an understatement. When we pulled onto her street huge metal gates stood at the beginning of each driveway. The gate to her driveway was left opened, we turned in and followed the driveway down to the house where we parked. there were five custom built cars parked right in front. Three I recognize her 1968 Ford Shelby Mustang, her brothers 1973 Ford Mustang, and Clouds 68 firebird. But I didn't recognize the Matt black 68 Dodge Charger, or the mercedes bends, next to her dads truck.  Tank knocked on the door and Mr. McCairy opened it, I had never meet him but I saw him at one of our track meets. He had gray and black hair and was built like a tank, I knew he had been in the Marines before Corra was born but his loud and booming voice still sent chills down my spine “Hello Tank, corra’s down stairs you can head down." He paused " and you are?" "Ohh sorry sir my names Jackson Bennett ." " Oh I've heard quite a bit about you son I won't keep you their all down stairs just follow Tank."  I could feel him watching me as I walked away.  We walked down a room with the dining room table and the kitchen to a black door. Tank opened it and we walked down some stairs to the basement. It was corra's room. I recognize it from the photos on her i********:, it took up the entire basement and had its own TV and couch. One wall was completely glass, looking out at the lake, Tank opened the glass sliding door and we stepped outside. It was a patio with two tables, a hot tub and a Hammock in the corner with someone in it. you could see their figure but not their face. “ hey corra your friends are here.” The Hispanic boy said. he had jet black hair, a scruffy beard, and dark almost black brown eyes. “ hey Cohen.” Tank said “ this is Jackson, one of our friends from track and field.” He turned to me “ Jackson this is Cohen, corra's oldest brother.” They looked absolutely nothing alike and it was a bit of a shock. A girl was sitting on his lap, my guess was his mate , due to the mark on her neck. Cloud was there two with his mate Sam. Cloud who I met at a track meet actually looks like her, my guess was Cohen took after his mother. I never met the woman but I knew she was Cuban and that corra said she always looked nothing like her. Two heads popped out of the Hamic hers and the boy that was with her earlier his face still seeming familiar. “ OK let go I have things to do, so we can get out of here.” She said struggling to get out but he was keeping her, holding her down, and it made my blood boil. I really should have killed the cunt. “ hey asshole let her go I want to get out of here.” Cohen said pissed, completely shocking me. He let her go, and she hopped out of the hammock, her face flushed and for the first time she wasn’t in her hoodie. All I could think about was how she had the perfect Betty Boop figure as my sister called it. Big boobs, big butt, small waist. Now I knew why she always wore the hoodie to hide her figure. Tank And I followed her inside and she grabbed a bag labeled Dazzy on it. “ here you go Tank.” She handed it to him her eyes catching mine her face turning even more red. “ thanks corra I’ll make sure she gets it tonight.”  “K see you Monday.” I followed Tank up the stairs waving her goodbye and we walked out the side door I could hear Cohen arguing with somebody and it didn’t sound pretty. We walked down the driveway and got in the truck, lights started flashing, driving past us one by one all the cars but the mercedes and the truck were speeding by, going down the driveway and disappearing. I caught a glimpse of corra and every bone in my body told me to go after her. “ where are they going this late at night?” I asked Tank “ Boston, they go racing almost every night.” His look told me everything and I finally understood why she put up all the walls. Why she never really got close to anyone, and why no one knew who she really was. **** one month later**** I walked out of practice that monday to see her lying underneath her car a set of tools scattered by her side, her figure perfectly visible. My body heated up and my d**k hardened every time I saw her. It was so agonizing that I couldn’t go anywhere near her knowing in this moment she didn’t belong to me. The car was just as beautiful as her, a 1967 Ford Shelby fastback Mustang forest green with black racing stripes. Her and her Brothers had spent two years fixing it up, and it was her pride and joy. She spent more time on it than she did practicing for sports. which to most people it’s a little hard to believe, because she spends her entire life on sports. I walked over to her despite knowing that i shouldn’t “What do you want?” She said sending electricity through my body. I squatted down and looked at her under the car. “ what happened?” She looked at me I could see the anger in her eyes, “what do you think?”  It was obvious, It wasn’t the first time the girls had messed with her, especially the cheerleading team. They hated how she was on good terms with most of us and sat at our table half the time. I had made damn sure my team stayed away from the cheerleaders we didn’t need any more drama than we already had especially this year when we had a chance at the state championships, but she was the exception she didn’t act like the other girls and definitely wasn’t interested in getting laid. it was only a couple of weeks ago when they took all of her clothes while she was in the showers and walked outside of the locker room with them. To their surprise she walked right out in her towel, grabbed her clothes and punched the cheerleading captain in the face Breaking her nose. Of course she walked back in like nothing happened in front of all of us. I still get angry thinking about the other guys seeing her like that. “ do you want a ride?” She looked at me, and back up at the car. Even I could see the brake line was cut, that was obvious. It wasn’t safe to drive like that and would have to go in to the shop to get fixed. She crawled out from under the car wearing a white Tank top and her favorite Adidas leggings, both covered in grease stains. Her dirty blonde hair slicked back into a long ponytail. I helped her off the ground, her piercing forest green eyes freezing me dead in my tracks. she turned to the trunk of the car and grab her hoodie, sliding It back on to hide her figure.  She grabbed her bag out of the backseat of the car and followed me to my truck sliding into the passenger side seat. I started the car and country music started playing I reached for the power off button but she stopped me “I like this song leave it please.” I was surprised I didn’t take her for the kind of girl who listen to country music and she could see it in my eyes a small smirk crossing her face. I pulled out of the school parking lot and down the road to the intersection. She smelled like coffee, vanilla, and fresh cut pine. I loved how she never sat normally, every time she sits in my truck she curls up  and leans into the door like she’s comfortable enough to sleep. “ doesn’t it bother you?” She peeked an eye open and looked at me “That they refuse to see the good in you, that they choose to only focus on all the things they think are wrong with you?” I asked her, she looked out the window, turning her head to the sea cliff and looked for the horizon, it was foggy and barely visible, the lighthouse the tiniest dot in the distance. “ why should it? we’re all bad in somebody's story. And it’s not like i can blame them” I thought to myself she’s not perfect, she is madness in fact. And her madness is a beautiful paradox where perfection and flaws are the best of friends. I’d fallen for this beautiful girl who is so much more than pretty, she was smart, funny, brave, and had a mouth like no other. she had a past that wasn’t all that lovely yet she still put a smile on her face and never looked back. she was a lion hearted girl and as much as she liked to say she didn’t deserve anything, I felt it was the other way around. She deserved everything. ****the next day**** She was walking out of the school to the girls field hockey game in her uniform, it was the only tight thing she’d ever wear around the school and only because she was forced. Connor bumped into her purposely, she fell to the ground and her shirt rode up a bit, we were all a little shocked at the sight of a tattoo on her midriff. She quickly got up and fixed herself, covering up the tattoo and huffed. “ sorry about that corra.” He said in a smug way making my blood boil. She walked out the doors slamming them shut behind her. “ damn I would totally tap that.” Connor  said irritating me even more. His eyes slowly undressing her as she walked down the pathway outside the glass door. I slap the back of his head and continued walking towards the locker room “hey Bennett your sister complex acting up again.” I turned throwing him against the wall. “ do you want to say that again Connor because we both know who will win that fight,” his hands went up as he gave up. “ and if you wanna tap that just try, she’ll eat you alive.“ I shoved him just a bit more towards the wall and walked away. After changing and showering the locker room I went up to Avian’s room to talk about the upcoming track season with them well my sister took a test in his classroom. Michaela was your average little sister a little bratty and totally spoiled. My parents made me drive her around which sucked a*s. Luckily she spent her free time at her best friends house so she never really was around. When she finished the test we left Avian‘s room and started walking to the gym exit of the school. We were about to walk out when I heard Connor grunting in pain. I looked around the corner in shock at what I saw, corra shirt was ripped at the top, her hoodie on the floor next to connor who is crouching down grasping his balls in pain. “Mic go to the car.” I said as I ran towards her grabbing her shoulders and looking her up and down to check if she was OK, her wrist were bruised and a hickey was forming on her neck tears forming in her perfect eyes. “Are you ok?” “ get off me!” She said her voice cracking, I backed off she picked up her hoodie sliding it on and stormed off. “ Connor you i***t, get yourself up and leave.” I said running after her. I slammed the door open to see her car start and pull away going 1,000,000 miles an hour. I ran back to him, picking him the rest of the way up off the ground and holding his collar “ what the f**k did you do to her.” I dropped him and swung as hard as I could giving him a good shiner. “ Jackson it’s time to go now!” Michaela said from the end of the hallway. Connor  may have been one of my best teammates on the team but he went too far this time. I slammed the door shut to my truck Michaela sitting in the passenger side “ you love her don’t you.” Loving her was an understatement I was completely and totally obsessed with every detail about her I wanted to lay down next-door every night. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and play with her hair until 2 AM and make her breakfast in bed but I couldn’t I would never be able to do that because she was meant for someone else. And the very thought of her laying down next to someone else made my stomach turn and my heart shattered because all the little things that I fell in love with weren’t meant for me to love and I think part of Michaela understood that. she had watched us since we first met. “Well What are you going to do?” “ Probably something stupid.”  “ you know who she’s dating right?” Of course I knew who she was f*****g dating. Warren black a grade a asshole and not just any kind of asshole, a rich conceited asshole. He also happened to be a rival alpha which only made things worse. He went to Quinton prep Academy home of the bears but graduated last year, corra had gone there once, in middle school, but I don’t know how she ended up at our school for high school she never told anyone. I did know however Alec, his beta, spent all his free time with her at her house, And now that I knew who he was, my guess is all his buddies from his football team were there to. Even so I ended up driving down Corra's driveway that night. I walked around the house to the backyard and knocking on her door, she looked up from her book and waved me in. “what?” You could see the Red splotches around her eyes from where she was crying, worry on her face, I knew I looked like s**t and even I could smell the alcohol on my breath. I couldn’t get the words out I just stood there like a deer in headlights. She stood up and walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist, leaning in and hugging me Salty tears uncontrollably ran down her cheeks and I wrapped my arms around her pulling her as close as I could as she buried her head in my Jersey.  We Talked for hours losing track of time, and what I love most, was she wasn’t afraid of my demons. And that I could see behind all her walls that she put up for everyone else, and underneath it all there’s a beautiful soul just wanting to be loved. “My eyes traced over her face, taking in the flush of her cheeks; her slightly parted lips, soft and pink and Absolutely kissable. I leaned in smothering my mouth against hers, Where to start? I thought to myself. I pressed my palm against corra’s breastbone, dragging it down her baggy sweatshirt until my fingers found the hem. Slowly, I tugged the material up her body, letting it bunch around her shoulders. “f**k, I want to taste every inch of you.” “Jackson ,” she gasped, my name sounded like f*****g heaven on her lips. “stop.” I remember where I was, Who I was with, and who she belongs to, i pulled away standing to my feet . “I’m sorry” i Open the door and stepped out quickly shutting it behind me, walking back around her house and Down the driveway to my truck. I climbed in and slammed my head against the top of the steering wheel. I knew I f****d up I should’ve never touched her, I never should’ve been here in the first place I thought to myself. I’m not perfect. I am sometimes selfish. Occasionally self-destructive. And prone to very brief yet severe spells of sadness. But I would fight until every bone in my body was broken to protect her. That I promised myself.
