CHAPTER 25– Shadows and Secrets

The forest had grown colder, the moon hidden behind rolling clouds. Arielle and Kael laid silently on the grass, senses stretched, bond pulsing like a living heartbeat. The events of the night power, desire, and the intensity of the bondstill thrummed between them, sharp and insistent. “You’ve been avoiding something,” Kael murmured, voice low, almost a growl. His silver eyes locked on hers, reading her every movement, every thought. The bond flared at his tone, protective, demanding, intimate. Arielle swallowed. “I… I felt something in the woods last night. While Lyra fled.” She hesitated, silver eyes scanning the shadows. “Something… powerful.” Kael’s jaw tightened. “She didn’t come alone.” His claws flexed, tensing for immediate combat. “Lyra has allies—wolves, humans… even rogue hunters. The bond flared violently, fire and dominance intertwining, warning them both of the danger. “I’ve fought stronger than this,” Arielle whispered, pulse racing, wolf purring with power and anticipation. “And I won’t stop now.” Kael’s hand brushed hers lightly, tethering them through the bond. “Then show them what it means to face us,” he growled. “Together.” The night was thick with tension. Shadows shifted, threats lurked in every corner, and the bond between them pulsed with power, desire, and unbreakable loyalty.
