CHAPTER 15 – Training in Desire and Power

526 Words
The morning sun barely touched the trees when Kael returned to the clearing. Arielle was already awake, muscles tense, senses stretched thin from the previous night’s shift and battle. The bond hummed between them, a pulse that had grown sharper overnight—possessive, demanding, addictive. “Today,” Kael said, his voice low and dangerous, “we push you further. You’re not just learning to control your wolf—you’re learning to control the bond. If you fail, it will consume you… and me.” Arielle’s pulse quickened. The bond pulled her toward him, fire and instinct threading through her veins. “And if I succeed?” she asked softly, meeting his silver gaze. “Then we survive,” he said, a flicker of something raw and intimate flashing in his eyes. “And you’ll be mine. Fully. In ways you don’t even realize yet.” The words ignited something inside her. Desire tangled with power, with the surge of energy that still shimmered beneath her skin. She took a deep breath, focusing, letting the wolf inside her stretch and roar, waiting for her command. Kael circled her slowly, observing, every step deliberate. “Control begins with trust,” he murmured. “Trust me… and yourself.” Arielle’s hands glowed faint silver as she extended them, feeling her wolf surge, ready to manifest fully. The earth trembled beneath her feet. Kael stepped closer, so close she could feel the heat radiating off his body. The bond screamed—hungry, possessive, demanding. “Focus,” he commanded, voice dropping to a growl. She obeyed instinctively, letting him anchor her, letting his presence tether the storm inside her. The first trial came quickly. Kael conjured a series of illusions—wolves, shadows, fires—all testing her ability to distinguish reality from instinct, control from chaos. Arielle shifted between human and wolf, claws flashing, teeth bared, senses screaming, all while Kael’s gaze never wavered. One step too close, and the bond flared violently. Heat coiled low in her belly, her pulse racing—not just from exertion, but from him. Every command, every touch—even the faintest brush of his hand against hers—sent sparks through her body. “You’re learning,” he said finally, voice rough, breath uneven. “Faster than I expected… faster than I wanted.” Arielle’s lips curved. “Faster than you can resist me,” she teased, the words low and daring. Kael froze, jaw flexing, the silver in his eyes deepening. The tension between them was no longer just power—it was desire, dark, sharp, addictive. The bond pulsed with it, claiming them both. From the shadows, Lyra watched again, rage and obsession flashing in her eyes. “They’re too close,” she hissed. “And soon… I’ll make them burn.” Arielle shivered, but not from fear. The bond thrummed between her and Kael, louder, stronger, hotter. She was learning control. She was learning power. And she was learning something far more dangerous: the Alpha who rejected her could not resist her… and she could not resist him. The line between training and temptation had already been crossed.
