I took Elara’s bag on my hand and her hand on the other.
“How about my stuff?” She turned around and looked at all the things that she would be leaving behind.
“Don’t worry,” I had to assure her. “I would ask Thomas and Lucas to go back and take your things. We’ll store them in a warehouse, or someplace. Then you tell me what you need, we’ll have it brought to the mansion.” I tried to smile. She nodded.
“Trust me, I can keep you safe. I promise to keep you safe.” I had to add that. I know she was afraid. This is happening all too fast.
She gave me a smile. I know it was forced. But it was a good start. Deep inside I know that she trusted me. That she would rather go with her trust than to face the unknown, that to face Damian.
Lucas and Rocky were already at the door waiting for us.
