The afternoon had a quiet lull, a rare break from the usual tension that lingered in the Carrington house. Alexis was passing through the hallway when she heard a muffled crash, followed by an unmistakable voice, high-pitched and furious. Peeking into the room, she saw Cody with Katherine. She had apparently been helping him with his art supplies, though something had clearly gone wrong. “Cody, I didn’t mean to spill it! It was an accident,” Katherine said gently, reaching toward the mess on the floor. But Cody wasn't having it. His face was flushed, and his hands balled into fists as he stomped his foot, his voice loud with frustration. “No! You ruined it! I hate it when things don’t go right!” he shouted, his voice echoing through the room. Alexis watched from the doorway, surprised.
