I just entered the school and everyone was looking at me like they are disgusted with how i look. I don't know what i did wrong. But my mom always told me that always to keep smiling. Always be positive. Don't let anyone hurt you.
Verbally. Physically. Emotionally And mentally.
"Looks like someone didn't take a bath". Someone said from behind
"Agatha" I said
"Yuck. Brush your teeth before saying my name. Ugh even my name smells bad when it comes from your mouth" She said that makes all the students in the hallway laughs
"Oh. I brushed my teeth". I said then smiled
"And you think anyone would believe you? You didn't even take a bath. You're still wearing the uniform with the apple juice stain i accidentally spilled yesterday" She said
"Accidentally?" I asked
"Yes. It was an accident. I'm a good girl i would never do it in purpose" She lied
"You stink"
"Go back to your house"
"Get lost weirdo"
"Yuck"
I just looked at the students then focused my attention on agatha who lied just to keep her name clean.
"It's okay" I said then smiled
"Will you please stop smiling. It's weird" She said
"It may be weird. But atleast it brightens someone's day" I said then smiled again
"You? And your weird smile? Brighten someone's day? HAHAHAH what a weird joke. it's weird as you". She said
"It's not a joke. It did brighten someone's day" I replied
"Yeah who? The dog?" She laughed
"Nicky steel" I said
Then everyone from the hallway laughed
"What's so funny?" I asked
"I think you're dreaming honey. I am the campus' queen yet i can't caught nicky steel's attention. And you think someone like you can?" She laughed
"Yes. She can" A man said from behind
"N-Nicky" Agatha stuttered
"Hey courtney" He approached me then give me a hug
"W-Wait. This is gotta be a joke" Agatha said
"And why would it be a joke?" Nicky asked her with one eyebrow raised
He looks so cool right now. Well i should thank him for standing up for me. No one did that to me since birth i guess.
"You can't be friends with someone like her. She didn't even take a bath" Agatha said
"Who said we're friends? We are BEST friends" He said then hold my hands that made all the students on the hallway gasped
"Y-You gotta be kidding me" Agatha said
"Agatha go away"
"Leave her alone"
"What a bully"
"Go home and cry agatha"
Agatha just rolled her eyes then held nicky's hands.
"Nicky. Now i got your attention. I don't hate courtney. Actually she is also my bestfriend. I'm a nice girl" She lied again.
"Don't you touch me with that dirty hands of yours" He replied then take his hands off agatha
"Believe me. I am an angel. Courtney is the one bullying me". She said then point her finger at me
I just smiled at her knowing how a good liar she is.
"Just stop. Let's go courtney". He said
"No wait. Maybe you wanna grab lunch later so we can talk. You will enjoy talking to me. Way more better than her" Agatha said
"I don't wanna waste my time on you. So, get out of our way. And we're gonna have a date. Right courtney?" He said while staring at me
"Y-Yeah. A Date". I replied
"Ugh" Agatha said in frustration
"Courtney is way better"
"Agatha is cancelled"
"Go to hell".
"Agatha doesn't deserve to be campus' queen"
"BOO" the students at the hallway booed that made agatha ran to the exit.
"Are you alright?" Nicky asked when agatha is finally gone
"I'm always alright. Thank you for doing that. Really appreciated it". I replied
"Well, that's not free" He said
"O-Oh i don't have any money" I said
"That's what i like about you courtney. You are so simple and blunt. You aren't ashamed of what you have and what you don't". He said
"Oh. So what's my payment?" I asked
"Have a lunch with me". He offered
"I already said i don't have any money. I can't afford to buy foods for now" I replied
"My treat". He said
"That's too much. You already stood up for me earlier. That's enough. Thank you but no" I refused
"I won't take no for an answer. Just come and eat with me and we will just talk" He said again
"Do i have any choice?" I asked
"None. So you have to come with me for lunch whether you like it or not" He bossed
"Uhm. Okay" I smiled at him
"That's what i've been waiting for. That smile". He smiled also.
"Oh" I smiled again
"You're cute" He said while pinching my left cheeks
"Thanks. Let's go to class stranger" I said
"Why do you keep calling me stranger" He asked
"Because. You're a stranger" I said
"I told you yesterday my name is nicky" He replied
"Yeah. I know. But you're still a stranger". I said then left
I heard some running steps. That's where I know he is chasing me.
"Why do you keep leaving me". He asked
"Why wouldn't i?" I asked back
"Well, we are now bestfriends. And bestfriends shouldn't leave each other". He replied
I remembered my bestfriend dorothy and how she left me because agatha is way popular than me. And ashamed of hanging out with someone like me.
"You'll get tired me. Like agatha said, don't waste your time on someone like me" I said
"Well, I'm willing to waste my time. If i will waste it on you" He smirked
Heart. Stop beating so fast.
"So courtney, will you eat lunch with me?" He said then led his hand
"If you hold my hand, it means yes. But if your answer is no, then leave" He said while still giving me his hand"
Well, it's free lunch anyways so....
"Okay" I replied then held his hand
