"b***h!!" Thorian hissed in anger as a red welt the size of my palm formed across his cheek. "I….I…" I stuttered in fear. Thorian moved to grab me and I hurriedly scrambled back, but hit the chest of one of his men. His furious glade bore into me, his eyes aflame with rage. Before I could even collect my thoughts, his hand smacked my face with a viscous slap of his own. I bit back a cry as a searing erupted across my cheek, and I stumbled backwards. "How dare you lay your filthy hands on me?? I see you haven't yet learnt your lesson" he leaned closer and I flinched expecting another hit but he stepped back and turned to his men instead. "Take Elowen boys and get her to the car." "What?" I called out as his men obeyed his orders without hesitation m "No don't…" I watched in hopeless despair as they dragged my sister away, her screams echoing in the air. My heart ached, "Please let her go" Thorian turned his attention to me, his eyes burning with rage, "You should have known better than to defy me. You were such a good girl and I love you for that. Pity you had to let this Stubbornness get in the way." With a cruel smile, he brought out a neatly folded paper out of his pocket and tossed it at me I picked it up, opening it as dread washed over me and the moment I saw the contents, my heart sank. It was a document of ownership. "What…." Fresh tears welled up in my eyes when I saw the name at the right bottom of the paper. THORIAN SILVERS. "You can't…." "But I already did. Now, I want this whole building demolished first thing tomorrow. Don't forget to pick up any valuables on your way out, and…" The door banged open interrupting him and Rowena walking in carrying a box. But she stopped dead in her tracks as she took in the scene, her eyes widening in shock. "What's going on here?" She asked. "Ah, Rowena dearest...you are just in time," with a sinister grin, Thorian snapped his finger at the man beside him, "Take her too!" Rowena's face contorted with fear as two men grabbed her before she could turn around, dragging her away from the store. At this point...I could do nothing but shake uncontrollably, and watch as her desperate cries tore at my heart. Desperation gripped me and I fell to my knees, tears streaming down my cheeks. "Please, Thorian, spare my sister. Okay, I'll do whatever you want. I'll be your mistress, just please let them go." Thorian's cruel smile faded into a sneer, and he shook his head, "Ooh...I knew you would definitely come to your senses my love." He grabbed my hands and pulled me up to my feet. "You look so hot begging like this. Unfortunately Morgana, you have caused me too much stress and that can't go unpunished. I don't like your insolence so I have changed my mind," My breath caught in my chest. What was he trying to say? "Why settle for you when I can have your two sisters? I will have your sisters indeed." My world seemed to shatter at that moment. U forced my feet to move as he spun around and walked out of the store. "Thorian, No!!" I called running after him, "No you cannot do this... Please take me instead. " But he didn't listen. He got into his car, where my sisters were and drove away while I screamed and watched helplessly. What have I done? ******* Hours later, I was still feeling empty and numb, and my throat was all sore from crying despite the portion that Ellion's mother had given me a few minutes ago. "How are you feeling?" Ellion asked, sitting down beside me. I shook my head. How else was I supposed to feel? Ellion had arrived at our restaurant and brought me home, where he and his mum tried their best to console me and make me feel better. But I wasn't feeling better, not even slightly. Instead I felt worse with each passing second. I felt worse because this was all my fault. Because I could have known what a monster Thorian was but I was just too blind to acknowledge the truth. I felt worse because I watched him take my sisters away and I couldn't do anything about it. "I'm so sorry about what happened, Morgana. It's a terrible situation," "Thank you, Ellion." "I just don't understand why Thorian is doing all these just to get a mistress, when he already has a mate. I mean, I get that he has an inflated ego…but to this extent?" He shuddered. I have asked myself that question over and over again but just couldn't think of a tangible reason. "Well, that's easy," his mum answered from the door, a grim expression on her face, "his mate is half Fae. She won't be able to conceive and you know how the wolves are when it comes to pro creation." I couldn't believe my ears. So he just wanted to use me as a baby making tool? "That makes sense. Which explains why he needs Morgana," Ellion said and the elderly elf nodded, walking into the room. "Now did you find any help in the inn mama?" "I'm afraid no one could help," she whispered. "What? Why not?" "It's not simple. The werewolves are the strongest beings here. No one wants to cross them or mess with them. Especially when Thorian is involved." I sighed, my shoulders slumping with resignation. "I appreciate your sympathy, and effort, but I understand. Thank you." "This is such crap," my friend snapped, "Just because they are the most powerful…that does not mean that they get to do whatever they want and get away with it." "Unfortunately that's what we have to live with. Now we all love you Morgana, trust me. And we would have loved to help...but no one is powerful enough to challenge them." I nodded, my heart squeezing painfully as I blinked back the tears in my eyes. If only there was someone more powerful than them, then.... My eyes widened as realization hit me like a bolt of lightning. There is someone more powerful than the Werewolves. Which was crazy...but as crazy as it seems, it's my only shot right now. Before I could even think about it...I snatched my purse from the table Because if I delay, to think about it, I might think myself out of it. One of those moments you throw yourself in blindly. "Where are you going?" Ellion asked with a frown. "I will be back soon," if I'm lucky to make it out alive. I put on my shoes, "don't worry about me. There's something urgent I need to do." "Don't do anything stupid Morgana!" Ellion yelled after me as I ran out of the house Stupid is an understatement for what I was about to do. ****** I have only heard about the dragon den's in stories my dad told us. I had no idea what they looked like or what they were like, but from the descriptions of many people they were the most ruthless beings you could ever come across. They would end a life without batting an eyelash. And no one was as merciless as they were. But dad never believed those stories completely. "Every creature was given a heart by the creator. So we all have good in us, even if it's as small as mustard seed." And it was that belief of his, I was holding on to as I walked deeper into the bushes that led to the untrespassed den. My heart was pounding more frantically as I drew closer to the gates. I didn't even want to think about what I was doing. If I do, I might find out just how crazy it is. If I do, I might change my mind, and run back home in fear. And I can't do that. This might be my only chance. This is our only chance, because I cannot beat the thought of what Thorian would do to my sisters. They are my younger sisters and I'm supposed to be responsible for them. I am supposed to be protecting them. Instead, I'm the reason they have to endure all this s**t. I was shaking when I got to the tall dark Gate, which looked like they had been subjected to fire over and over again. The rusts on the gates made it look more formidable, as if .... "How dare you?" A very deep voice barked behind me, shaking me to the core, "A mere human. How dare you trespass the dragon's territory?" My knees almost gave out, and the beat of my heart increased by ten till I felt dizzy and out of it. With my shaky legs and a very deep breath to muster up the courage in me, I slowly turned around...and came eye to eye with the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen. They were golden eyes, with hints of red streaks around them as if it was carved with fire. But the eyes were filled with anger as they stared into mine. The man's face, framed by long strands of wavy gray hair, was squeezed in a frown. I gasped as I stared at him. "His eyes burn like fire, and his hair like ash...." My dad's voice rang in my mind. "You... " I stammered, shaking, "you're the Dragon King, Xandrius,"
