CHAPTER 7

"Do you want to watch a movie with me so I can prove myself that I like doing it?" naka ngiting sabi nya while I freeze in shock. I gulped down the food and sips on the soda. "No, sir. I mean, Vance. You don't have to prove me anything," I carefully said. My heart raced. I don't know if he's just genuinely asking me to watch movies with him or what because that was so smooth! He didn't even have to try hard. If this is how he'll make his move to girls, paniguradong they will willingly submit themselves to him. He slightly lifted himself to his seat and pulled out simething from the back of his pocket. It's a two movie ticket of a movie that's showing in cinemas now and it's series is very popular and enjoyed among all ages. Hindi ko alam kung ilang beses na nya akong napa nganga ngayong araw. I didn't mean to, but my eyes automatically looked at him suspiciously. "That's the ticket that I was supposed to watch with my friend that I had lunch with. We both love the series so we decided to watch together but he has an emergency so I now have spare ticket with me," he countered. I didn't even get to comment anything but I guess the look that I gave him says it all. I mean, it's kinda wierd how he suddenly has a ticket with him. "And you want to watch it with me?" I said in disbelief. I just cannot grasp the idea that my boss that I barely talk with in the office is now asking me to watch a movie with him. "I'm just wondering if you have a spare hours to sit in a cinema to watch a movie... with me. Wait," Vance tilted his head and his forehead creased. "By any chance... Do I make you uncomfortable?" tanong nya. I am so flustered with that question that I cannot even move my eyeballs or blink my eyes. It took me a couple of secondsto finally snap back to reality. "No. It's just that... You're my boss and it's unusual for me to see you in a mall, let alone watch a movie with you. Calling you Vance is kinda strange to me." "Why? I like it when you call me by my name," he nonchalantly said. I raised my brows on him and eyed me more suspiciously. Is he flirting with me or what? "What do you mean?" I asked him directly. His pupils dilated when I asked him. Binasa nya ang labi nya saka inayos ang upo nya. "I mean, I like it when people call me by me name when I'm ouside the office," aniya. "Why? Doesn't that nullify the bounderies that we're supposed to be having?" Sir Vance- Vance pressed his lips together and nods his head. "Calling me sir in this situation makes me feel that I am not really having a day off. So call me by my name in case we bump in to each other again." "I don't really care much about the bounderies anyway. As long as you do your job in the office then there will be no problem," aniya. Hearing his sentiment, I started to nod at him. Okay, that's valid and I totalky understand him on that part. "Okay, Vance. I'll call you by your name. Only when we bump into each other, " sabi ko naman. I think that it would be too weird that I'll call him with hir real name bigla on places like our our office. "And what about the movies?" tanong nya. He looked at me with such hopeful eyes. I nods. "Okay, Vance. I can spare few hours of my time to watch the movie with you with the sole reason of me wanting to watch the movie." Vance's face became bright and satisfied. Mataas na na mataas ang pag ngiti nya. I am actually very torn whether I should go with him or not. It's not even serious but I guess I'm just wary of our surroundings. I'm nervous because somebody from the office might see us and create a stirr or somebody who knows my family. I just don't want to make it awkward with Vance. He's still my boss after all. After agreeing to come with him, we went straight to the cinema because apparently, the movie's about to start. "I'll buy popcorn for us. What flavor do you like?" I asked him. He bought the tickets so I think it's just proper that I buy the snacks. "Barbecue," sagot nya. Good thing that I love that flavor the most so I got that. I ordered only one popcorn so we could share and two drinks. After that, we lined up to enter the cinema. The seat at the back's really perfect for the viewing experience and I'm just glad that roon ang seat namin. You know, sitting at the back of the cinema is the real deal. Also, one thing about Vance is that ang gaan nyang kasama. I really don't have this uncomfortable feeling right now. He's just like a puppy who goes wherever I go. "Do you like this kind of stuff?" I asked him as I nervouslt sat into my spot. The movie started playing and it's too late when I realized that it's a horror story. I thought it's a mystery and thriller one but it's fine. I can handle jumpscares pretty well. Vance moved his head on my direction. "Yeah. I like something dark. It makes ny adrenaline rush you know?" he said in a hush voice. "You like dark things? Like what?" I asked. If he likes dark stuffs, there's a high chance that he's probably interested in things like conspiracy theories and stuffs like that. I wouldn't be surprised if he really do because he really looks smart and I know that he is. While I expectantly looked at him to answer, Vance's lips slightly curved. "Oh Camila. You wouldn't want to know," he meaningfully said.
