Episode 4: Dreamers

1037 Words
Before humans created, most of the creatures of all the realms dream ,too, except the Heavenly Being from Heaven realm. The Dream realm had inevitably created. It wasn't intended to create a realm by even the most powerful being. When a another world of itself was created, there must be someone who should rule it. And so Morpheus was born from a fruit of the World Tree. Then, he ruled the realm all by himself with his familiars. Humans designed to sleep to replenish their strength and to develop their beings. The Heavenly Being was so fond of humans, He let the humans in to Morpheus' territory. Although, Morpheus doesn't hate humans, he isn't fond of them for having a nature of being exploitive even in the physical realm. And so he seek help from other rulers of the other realm to lend their small portion of powers into creating a core that will control the human consciousness whether they are in the realm or when in the state of sleepiness. Morpheus successfully created the core of energy. The core itself is powerful. So powerful that it created kinds of state of dreaming a human can experience, which can also depends on human will, abilities, or state. It can also create its own world within a world, but not greater than a realm itself. In today's layman's term, the core screens people who enter the realm. By screening, it means they either experience: day dreaming, ordinary dreaming, lucid dreaming, vivid dreaming, prophetic dreams, false awakening, healing, and worst of all, nightmare. Let's start with day dreaming. Half of the human's consciousness is asleep even in the busiest environment. And because Dream realm can get as far as someone's sleeping, the core's energy can manipulate the person's thought. May it be intentional or not. Ordinary dreamers were those humans who impassively went with what the core wants them to see. There's a high chance that humans actually witness what a Dream Realm looked like but just like a mist in their minds, the image evaporates. People who experiences lucid dreaming one of the two types of people with talent or the ability to manipulate the core's energy. Humans who lucid dream can create another world or impossible things to their advantage. It's like the sky is the limit to them. They are able to see and remember Dream Walkers. But only when they are in the dream realm. Once they are awake, what they saw, what they talked about, or what they hear from the Dream Walkers, they would forget about them. In rare cases, they can only remember a silhuette of a person they never met. Vivid dreamers, like lucid dreaming, they can also remember what's within their dreams. Also unlike lucid, the energy is out of their control. Prophetic dreams can also listed as vivid dreams since messages or creatures from spiritual realms and some realms can cross the dream realm to relay to the gifted humans. And healing dreams were a sub -class of prophetic since guides from Guardian realm or Angelic realms visit their persons to offer solace. False awakeners. Those humans who can't handle the core's energy. They do aware that they are dreaming and figured it out. Trying to wake up from it but then they are far from being awake. They create layers of bubble upon themselves but can't even got out of their own foolishness... "That's harsh." Athalla interjected. "Why, it's true." Murphy chuckled. "It's kind of funny. It's like a child thrilled to unwrap his Christmas gift under the Christmas tree on a Christmas morning. But instead of seeing the surprise inside, he discovered that there's another wrapped up present inside. And another wrapped gift and another. In the end, he didn't realize that he was pranked by his parents and there's never really a present for him. Foolish indeed." he continued laughing. "You call people, who doesn't know they're trap inside a dream in a dreams, stupid? And a child that was victimized by his parents?" Athalla was astonished. "I didn't say they are stupid but foolish." Murphy retaliated. "Man, stupid and foolish are the same. Those words were synonymous." Athalla frowned. Murphy smiled at what Athalla had said. "You sound exactly like your father." Athalla opened her mouth to answer him back but she don't know what to say. Her face softened and remember how they once respond with each other with some vocabulary. They have finally reached the area with houses. Athalla felt relieved at the thought that she can finally able to call an uber but then she suddenly remembered that the town is quite when the night is getting late. And her phone's broken. She was about to ask Murphy about something when he suddenly spoke up. "No, I don't have a smartphone." "Wow! How did you know what I'm going to ask you?" She replied astonished. "I've been alive for quite a long time and I've come to read human minds even before they think about it." He smirked. "I don't know if I should be amazed by that or I should be afraid." She gulped. "Both." Murphy faced Athalla beside him with a taunting smile. Athalla suddenly turned her face to him with a horror expression. She felt goosebumps running from the back of head down to her toes. "Nah, I'm just kidding." Murphy bursted into fits of laughter. "You should've seen you face." still laughing while holding his stomach. Athalla shut her eyes tight and her hands into fists. She couldn't believe he tricked her into believing he had some kind of hocus pocus or a mind reading ability. "I won't trust you from now on." she walked a long stride while stomping. Murphy just watched Athalla's back as she seemed like a child on a tantrum. "You daughter resembled you a lot. She doesn't even like to get joked around just like you, Hariel" Murphy said in his mind. Even he missed Athalla's dad as Hariel was like a brother to Murphy. "One day, she'll know the truth you've been keeping to your family, especially,, to your daughter. And I won't tell her just yet. I'll let her discover that truth."
