-Conner's POV-
"Miss! Don't do this!" I was shouting hysterically to make her stop, but she couldn't seem to hear me. I was running as fast as I could trying to catch up with her pace. " Miss, whatever your problem is this is not the solution! Miss! please stop!" Finally, I caught her wrist and with that first touch an electric bolt ran through my veins. Oh Dear God. She faced me the moment she realized that I was holding her. Tears were madly falling on her soft creamy cheeks. "What do you want from me?!" she asked calmly, but with intense fire right through her dark brown eyes. Although taken aback, I replied as calmly as I can, " I want you to go back to the shore." "Who are you to care? You don't even know me." She bowed her head down trying to hide the pain in her eyes, but even though I wanted to caress her cheeks and wipe away her tears I responded with a smirk and emphasized sarcasm in my voice, “Oh I know you, alright. You are one of those stupid people who thinks taking their own life is the best solution to their problems. Who thinks that they carry the whole world on their shoulders. One who is a pessimist. I know you are facing something today, but I tell you this is not the way to solve it.” I can see how surprised she was with the firmness of my voice, but she immediately discarded it and fought to defend herself. “Oh! So you’re Mr. Wiseman huh? So let me ask you, can you solve my problem for me?” Seeing her defend herself made her look for irresistible and with that I gave her a real smile, “Only if you want to share it to a stranger you now call Mr. Wiseman. However, if your mind is set, if you really think that committing suicide is the key to your problem then, I couldn’t do anything to change your mind. Just let me know then I’ll let go and have it your way." I let go of the hands of the lovely, confused maiden and turned my back from her, “If you do change your mind I’ll be waiting by the seashore.” I reached the shore hoping that she would follow me. I slowly sat on the white sand and watched the lady still standing to where I left her...
-Lucy's POV-
I was dumbfounded. I couldn't believe my eyes. Did my father really slap the face of my mother?! I just arrived from a two-hour trip to stay at our rest house in Brisbane for vacation and this is what I bumped into. "What is going on here?!" I hissed. My father didn't notice my arrival and when he did his face turned pale. My mother on the other hand hurriedly greeted me with a warm hug as if nothing happened. "What is going on here?" I asked again with a stern voice. "Oh, nothing happened my dear. What are you talking about?" my mother replied trying to conceal the sadness in her eyes. "Don't you lie mom. I deserve to know what is going on? I saw what dad did to you! And you say that nothing happened? Don't fool around mom! I mean it!" My father tried to approach me when I asked "Why did you do that?" He opened his mouth, but nothing came out. He was thinking of the right words to use to explain what just happened when my mother let out a sob. "I'm sorry Martin, I can't hide it anymore. Lucy, your father and I are going to file for divorce. We have been trying to reconcile for the last 5 years, but unfortunately our relationship is becoming more toxic than it already was." What?! toxic?! How come?! They were very sweet with one another how did it become toxic?! I couldn't believe what I am hearing "I-I don't understand. How? Was everything for show? I mean you seem ok. You seem happy. How did it become toxic? I just don't get it." My mother held my hands "Honey, there are things that you wouldn't understand for now, but you will in time. We can't keep on pretending that we are happy when we truly aren't." I shivered upon hearing the word 'pretending'. I was right all along. It was all for show. I felt betrayed. I shoved her hands and looked at both of them. "You said you tried for the last 5 years, do you know how long I tried? How long I tried to become the best daughter I can be? Do you? Well, let me tell you! From little until now, that is 19 long years." I ran outside slamming the door behind me. I was so sure that I wanted to get lost. I don't care how, as long as I get LOST. I was walking feeling nothing but the pain inside my heart until someone grabbed my wrist which made me stop on my track. I turned to find a handsome man asking me what I was doing. He has deep dark brown eyes that can drown you if you don't look away. His prominent jaw line spoke of dominion that can catch anybody's attention. Adonis is that you? I frowned at his smirk as if he was teasing me and felt mocked as he turned and left me to where I was standing. Who does he think he is? I didn't give him any authority to grab my hand like that and give me thousands of electric bolts! Ugh! Handsome jerk! Wait a minute, since when did I admire men? No! This is nonsense! Dammit! I can't believe this! In one moment I was so depressed and now here I am admiring the man waiting for me by the seashore. HOLY CRAP!
