Frank's POV

I returned back to my office to pick some things before heading to the garage.
" No no.....don't tell me you got fired" Damien said immediately I entered.
" No, I'm not fired" I replied picking up my phone and car Keys.
" then why is your face like this?" he asked.
" she wanted me to accompany her to seal a deal with one of our client" I said.
" really?.....c'mon man that's a perfect opportunity for you too to be together " he said.
" you don't get it........whenever I'm with her I lose concentration which might make us lose the contract " I said.
" so what are you going to do?" he asked.
" what else?.......there's nothing I can do, she's just too stubborn, gotta go" I said heading out.
" Good luck " he said.
I got downstairs and waited for her for some minutes before she came and we entered the car then the driver drove off.
I sat in the front with the driver while she sat in the back going through her iPad.
The car was dead silent and no one made a sound and after we are almost at the place she spoke up.
" Frank" she called.
" Yes ma'am " I answered.
" do your best not to mess this up today.......we need this contract, we can't afford to miss it" she said.
" I'll try my best ma'am " I replied.
A while later we got to the woman's house and the driver drove in then parked the car.
We both got down and went to the house as the woman in her mid-forties the came out to welcome us, she lead us inside and we sat down.
" you're welcome to my home " the woman said.
" thank you Mrs Barkley" the boss said.
" I see you brought a pretty face along with you " the woman said referring to me and I smiled warmly.
" uhm....this is Mr Nelson, the director" the boss introduced.
" Nice meeting you Mrs Barkley " I said.
" me too, look I know you're a very busy woman so I won't try to waste your time........so let's talk business " the woman said.
" yeah that will be good" the boss replied.
" okay then, about the stock we negotiated the last time, I'm still standing on my price.........this is business Miss Richmond, we all want profit" the woman said.
" Mrs Barkley, you know our company very well, you've seen our products.....you know we're not some small firm.......We deals with the Top Dog who can verify our work" the boss said.
I just sat there looking at both of them as they talk it out, as I am right now, it's like brain his dead and couldn't function any longer.
I just keep staring at the boss's lips as she is talking, I watched as her lips moves anytime she uttered a word.
" Miss Richmond..........."
" please call me Bella" the boss interrupted.
" okay Bella, you don't need to state all of that for me, I know and I've seen your work, but my price still stands" the woman said then the boss turned to me to say something.
" Frank, you wanna say something?" she said.
" huh......ummm... Yeah, yeah ummm..... There....there's......umm....actually my boss said everything.........dealing with our company is the best thing to do" I stuttered.
" It's business darling......it is what it is" she said.

After failing to secure the deal with Mrs Barkley we went back into the car and drove off.
No one uttered a word till we reach the office, I know the contract means alot to her but I don't know what to say.
" Mr Felix.....do you mind excusing us?" The boss said immediately the driver parked the car at the garage.
" Okay ma'am" he replied then he got down and left.
" What happened back there?" She asked and I was confused of what she really mean.
" Ma'am, what do you mean?" I asked looking at her.
" The reason I brought you along was to help me out with it, i expect you to do what you actually do to our other clients but instead you let you mind wander off" she said.
" I'm sorry, actually I think you said everything that needs to be said, maybe the contract wasn't really meant for us" I said and she shot me glare.
" Spare me that silly lecture, this is not Nigeria where you believe some things happen for a reason" she said.
" So it's true" she said and I got confused again.
" What do you mean?" I asked.
" One of the reasons I decided to follow you here is to confirm if the rumors about you is true and now it's confirmed" she said and I wondered what's she's talking about.
I know she knew about my s*x affairs but what rumors is she talking about.
" I'm lost here ma'am, I don't follow up...... what rumors are you talking about?" I asked.
" Tell me the truth Frank, do you have any intimacy with any of our clients in exchange for the contract" she said and I was shocked and angry at the same time.
" Did you just accused me of having a s****l relationship with our clients?"
" What the hell is that supposed to mean?" I said angrily at her and I can see a surprise look on her.
" Heyyy.......Watch your tone Frank" she said.
" No ma'am, i don't care what you think about me......."
" I know know what you might have heard about me but one thing I know for sure......I don't cross my boundary"
" So ma'am, with all due respect ma'am don't you insult me again" I concluded.
" Is that a threat?" She asked staring at me.
" I'm sorry ma'am, I respect you alot so don't ruin that, and NO it's not a threat it's the fact" I said.
" I'll let this slide for now and the next time you raise your voice at me again....then this conversation will be different" she said.
" I have my eyes on you..... Frank, I'm watching" she added then get out of the car then went straight inside the company.
' I don't care if I have a crush on you but i can't let you insult me anyhow'
' you are so lucky that I have a crush on you if not this wouldn't be the conversation at all' I thought then came out of the car.
I went back to the office and everyone eyes are on me as I entered.
" Heyy, how did it go?" Damien asked as I got to my desk.
" We lost the contract" I said then sat down.
" Oooops.....no wonder the boss wasn't smiling" he said.
" More to that.........she and I had a little argument" I said.
" You and the boss?.......and she's cool with it?" He said surprised.
" She got on my nerves, she said some things I'm not cool with" I said.
" Woww......that sounds like a couples fight" he said.
" There are some things I'll never agree on " I said.
" Watch your attitude towards her, if not she will fire you" he said.
" She can't do that....... I'm a very important person in the company, I played a very big role in here" I said.
" That might be true but you know she's the boss and she can do that" he said and I rolled my eyes.
