Sydney squirmed in her seat. She leaned over to Jax. “Omigod...I need to pee. How much longer do we have to wait?”
They were in the hospital waiting for her scheduled ultrasound. An hour before the test she drank the required litre of water, and now the technician was delayed. As if she heard Sydney, a door opened and a young woman called out her name. “Sydney Grey.”
They went in, and Sydney was instructed to get up on the bed. She sat up partially with pillows behind, and Jax stood on the other side of the bed holding her hand.
The technician covered her with a sheet up to her lower abdomen, pulling the gown up under her breasts to expose the whole abdomen. She made adjustments on the ultrasound machine and placed some gel on Sydney’s torso. “Sorry, this may be cold on your skin.”
