I didn’t know what time it was when I woke up but I was rested. The basement muffled the noises of the outside world and I was exhausted last night. I got up and put away the sleeping bag and used the utility sink to clean myself up a bit before putting on my borrowed clothing. I was alert, listening for any noises that meant someone was coming.
I carefully went up the stairs and was relieved to see that there still wasn’t a car in the garage. I let myself out the back door and locked it behind me, silently thanking the owner for the safe haven for the night.
Once on the street I pulled up the maps on my phone to figure out where I was. I was able to locate my position quite easily and I soon got myself headed in the right direction. I was heading back to my office. I neede
