Luke helped me up from Yeren’s desk and I walked past his mangled body on the floor. He was gurgling and I felt nothing, even when Kevin picked up his foot and brought his boot down in Yeren’s face, crushing his skull. I knew he was dead then, but Kevin still lit his body on fire.
Luke had his arms around me, supporting my body as we walked through the door. I could see the concern on Caleb’s face but he said nothing out of respect for his Alpha. Luke brought me over to the sofa and helped me lie down on it, rearranging the blanket so it covered my body. The elevator dinged and Diedre exited along with another person. I was slightly curious, but I hurt so badly that I couldn’t make myself care too much. My eyes kept wanting to close.
