When I got the mind link from Kevin I sped over to the hospital immediately. I burst through the front doors with a huge grin on my face, excited to see her awake. I rounded the corner and saw a small huddle outside of Lexi’s room. Concern spiked through me, but the doctor waved me over, cautioning me to be quiet.
I could hear Kevin yelling at Lexi. He was really letting her have it. My wolf didn’t like it; he growled in my head. I hushed him, listening. She wasn’t arguing and I knew her well enough to know that she was considering his words if she wasn’t yelling back. This might not end as badly as I had thought.
He stormed out of her room and slammed the door, surprised to see us standing there. He gave me a cocky grin.
“She’s all yours, cuz. She’s mad at me, not you.”
