✨ Ashley sigh as she felt her phone vibrating in her pocket just as she was about to pull it out so she could order a ride, she was exhausted from having to move from one store to the other trying to get fabrics with money she doesn’t have because in her words "you don’t have to look like what you’re going through". "hi rach" she said immediately she picked up, "where are you Ashley I’ve been here for the past fifteen minutes. Wait a minute are you still at home girl you better not be" Rachel said over the phone "omg I’d completely forgotten we we’re supposed to meet up rach, I’m at a*****e just two streets away from the cafeteria I’ll meet you there in five minutes" you’d better Rachel said before getting off the phone. Hmmp" Ashely was breathing so fast as though she ran from where she was to cafe, looking at their favorite spot she found Rachel sitting there, "I’m so sorry rach, I have a lot on my mind I totally forgot" as Rachel looked at her friend she could see how stressed she looked and instantly, all the rant she had to dish out vanished " it’s fine ash, you need to sit and catch your breath you look like you’re about to die or something, I’m not mad anymore " "thank goodness" Ashley thought as she wasn’t ready to be scolded by Rachel about not being able to keep to time and bla. As they sat sipping orange juice and having pasta for lunch, she mentioned she'd applied for a job at Blackwood Enterprises. Rachel's eyes lit up with surprise. "That's quite a departure from fashion, isn't it?" she asked. Ashley shrugged. "I know, but I need a steady income. And honestly, I didn't think I'd hear back from them." Rachel nodded thoughtfully. "Actually, I might be able to help. My friend babra’s brother works in HR at Blackwood. I can ask her to put in a good word for you." Ashley's eyes widened in gratitude. "That would be amazing, Rachel! Thank you so much!" Rachel smiled and pulled out her phone. "I'll call babra right now and see what she can do. Keep your fingers crossed, okay?" Ashley nodded, feeling a glimmer of hope for the first time in weeks. She waited anxiously for Rachel to get off the phone, her mind racing with possibilities. Finally, Rachel hung up and turned to Ashley with a reassuring smile. "Babra’s going to talk to her brother and see what he can do. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next." Ashley nodded, trying to contain her excitement. She had no idea how big of a deal Blackwood Enterprises was until She had to look it up online and was shocked to discover it was a global conglomerate with interests in everything from tech to finance As she delved deeper, she realized Blackwood Enterprises was not only massive but also highly respected in the business world. The company's CEO, Julian Blackwood, was a renowned entrepreneur and thought leader. Ashley felt a shiver run down her spine as she wondered what it would be like to work for such a powerhouse. She’d graduated with a first class honor in Human Resource Management back in college but had dumbed her certificate immediately after graduation. She never thought she’ll be needing it as she only went to college to fulfill her parents wish. Seeing how big of a deal Blackwood enterprise was, she began to develop doubt about getting the job, and instead of just sitting and waiting she decided to apply with two more companies that were hiring at that moment. Now, all she could do was wait and hope for the best...✨
