It Wasn’t Supposed To Be Like This

Chapter 13

*Xaviers point of view*

“There’s one last thing I want to do before we conclude tonight’s celebration. Avery Lee, I know things have been a whirlwind for us, we haven’t had a lot of time just to us but I know without a doubt I want to spend forever with you. So with that being said.” I got down on one knee while she looked at me the confusion growing on her face.

“I’ve never done this before but um will you marry me?” I pulled out the ring box and showed her the ring, it was beautiful and dainty like she was, it was an oval cut diamond with a beautiful rose gold band.

“I.. Xavier I don’t know what to say, I love you too and you know that. Are you sure you want to spend forever with me?” I nodded my head, it was taking her longer than I expected to answer.

“Okay if you’re sure, then Xavier I would love nothing more than to marry you.” The crowd erupted in applause again. For any normal human this would seem incredibly fast, but for us wolfs Avery and I have moved incredibly slow.

“Thank you everyone for joining us tonight to celebrate my victory and announcing Avery as our new Luna, she’s going to be and do great things for us.” I looked down at her and smiled. People started making their way to congratulate us before walking out. Once the room was nearly empty the omegas got up and started to clean up.

“Ladies you really don’t have to do this tonight, go ahead and go upstairs to rest it’s late. You can clean up when you get up in the morning and then take the rest of the day off.” The omegas who took care of cleaning and meal preparation weren’t mistreated and they were paid for their work but they still deserved time off.

“Thank you Alpha, we’ll see you Sunday morning at breakfast.” They walked away. I looked back at Avery she was sitting there admiring her ring.

“Are you ready to go princess?” She nodded her head and walked over to me, wrapping her arm around mine we headed back inside.

“So Alpha what are your plans once we get back to the room?” I just smiled, it drove me nuts when she called me that and she knew it.

“Oh I was thinking a shower and then bed?” I glance down at her. She huffs at me and shakes her head.

“Okay that sounds good to me Alpha. She leans her head on my shoulder as we walk down the hallway. I couldn’t believe she was mine forever.

“Actually do you mind if I sleep in my room tonight? I think I need some alone time.” I nodded my head and walked her to her door. Luckily it was right next to mine so I knew she’d be safe.

“Goodnight Avery, I’ll see you in the morning.” I kissed her on her forehead and walked back to my door. Stealing one last glance before I went inside. I quickly showered and went to lay down. I was nearly asleep when Isaac started howling in my head.

M-“What’s going on Isaac why are you going berserk?”

I-“ do you not hear that?”

What exactly am I supposed to be hearing. I turned my fan off and put my ear to the wall, I didn’t hear anything inside my office, I went over to the wall connected to Avery’s, I heard a faint moaning noise coming from the other side. She must be dreaming.

“Alpha I love it when you touch me there.” I ran out of my room and burst into hers. She was laying on the bed with her legs slightly open and her hand between them. I felt myself stiffen in my pants. She quickly snapped out of her thoughts when she realized I was standing there.

“Oh I’m so sorry Xavier I didn’t know you were there.” She pulled her hands away and started to pull the covers over herself.

“No! Don’t stop. I want to see more.” She just looked at me confused. I walked over, pulled the blankets back and grabbed her hand putting it between her legs again.

“Do it again. I want to watch.” Her cheeks flushed. She started rubbing circles around her soft little nub, staring me down intensely. I watched as her pupils started to dilate. I couldn’t look away, she enticed me. I began to unbutton my pants and remove myself from my underwear. She watched my every move. I moved my hands to my p***s and slowly started to pleasure myself while watching her. She started rubbing circles faster before gently inserting a finger inside herself, a low moan escaped her mouth.

I walked over to the wall and pinned her against it, her soft ivory skin crashing into mine. I started to kiss all up and down her neck stopping at the spot where I marked her and gently sucking. She shivered underneath my touch. I knelt down and placed her knees on my shoulders before diving head first into her warm, wet center. I could feel her hands pulling on my hair.

“Xavier please don’t stop.” She begged me. I didn’t want to stop. I slowly stood back up.

“Trust me princess I’m not stopping, this ride is only just beginning.” I put my hands on the crease between her butt and her thighs and carried her back over to the bed. I laid her down on the bed and positioned myself between her legs but she stopped me and pushed me on to my back.

“What are you doing?” I looked at her with an eyebrow raised.

“So uh I think I need a shower and some food, you?” She nodded her head. I picked her up off the bed bridal style and carried her into the bathroom. I sat her down on the sink while started the shower. Once I felt like the water was warm enough I helped her off the sink and we got in. I was gently washed her body and hair before washing my own. I wanted to make sure she felt special and taken care of after the night we just had. Once I was done I turned the shower off and grabbed us both a towel, wrapping her up first. We headed to the closet to get some clothes. When we made her room I made sure to add some of my stuff in here as well so I wouldn’t have to worry about running back and forth to get stuff for myself. She walked in and grabbed one of my button down shirts and put it on. God was she beautiful. I grabbed a pair of my sweatpants out of the dresser and slid them on.

“You wait here, I will go make us some food okay?” I wrapped her up in a hug and kissed her head.

“Okay, I love you Xavier. Thank you for tonight.” I let her go and looked at her before walking out of the room. I went to the kitchen and grabbed some sodas and water and a fresh salad with some steak on top, this is all she seemed to want anymore. I walked back up to her room and opened the door.

“Mm that looks so good, thank you love.” She grabbed the salad from me and started eating

“Do you want to watch anything? Maybe a horror movie?” She nodded her head and kept eating. I settled down into the bed next to her and laid back grabbing my salad from the side table. We ate in quiet and watched the movie. Once it was over I rolled over to talk to Avery who was sound asleep. She must have passed out at some point in time and I didn’t notice. I covered her up and turned the lamp off. I pulled her as close to my body as I could get her and fell asleep, breathing in her sweet relaxing scent.

*Averys point of view*

It’s been a week since Xavier won the fight against Zeke, which meant it was time for us to leave for Colorado. I wasn’t ready to leave yet but everyone understood. My mom and dad had decided they would stay here in Florida and help around the packs doctors office and visit me when they could. Layla hasn’t really talked to me much but I know she’s been busy with school and her new boyfriend, who I still have no information on. I sat in the packs clinic waiting for Abigail to come get me so we could run another std panel. We had decided to still do a pregnancy test even though I had my heat, what could it hurt.

“Hi Avery, we’re ready for you to come back now.” I had been holding my pee for hours now, I desperately needed to go.

“Do you have that thing? I need to go to the bathroom?” She nodded her head and walked me to the bathroom, quickly putting the test in my hand.

“Thank you.” I went into the bathroom and pulled out the test. I read the instructions and sat down. Once I was done I put the test on the sink and covered it up. It said to wait 3 minutes for the results, I set a timer and sat back down on the toilet. You never realize how long it takes for 3 minutes to go by until you’re waiting for something like this. My alarm started going off. I was too scared to look. I took a deep breath and stood up walking back over to the sink. Here goes nothing. I removed the piece of paper I had put over it and closed my eyes. Dear lord please don’t let this happen. I opened my eyes and looked down.

What how!? I had my heat, you can be pregnant and still have your heat can you?! I thought you had to have your heat to get pregnant. I pulled out my phone, I hated to bother him because he was catching up on work but I needed him here with me.

M-Xavier I need you to come to the packs doctors office please.-

X-I’ll be there shortly princess.-

I slipped the test into my pocket and walked out. Abigail was waiting for me and showed me to my room.

“The doctor will be here in a minute.” Xavier would probably be here around the same time. I wanted to make sure we waited for him though.

“Xavier is on his way right now, he wanted to be with me while I had the labs ran today.” She nodded her head and walked out. Xavier showed up in less than 5 minutes. He walked in and kissed me on the head and sat down in a chair next to me.

“Is everything okay? I thought you wanted to do this appointment alone?” I slipped my hand into my pocket and pulled out the test.

“I did but we need to talk about something.” I took a deep breath and handed him the test. His eyes went wide.

“How is this possible? You just had your heat, you can’t get pregnant without your heat. I don’t understand.” I knew part of the reason he was freaking out was because it would be Zekes baby, that didn’t matter anymore though because Zeke was dead.

“I don’t know Xavier I’m still learning everything about being a wolf myself. I didn’t think this was possible, please don’t be mad at me.” He looked up at me and shook his head.

“Mad at you? Princess I can’t be mad at you, it’s not your fault.” Just then his grandpa walked in, Xavier quickly hid the test.

“Afternoon, so it looks like this will be the last set of labs we’ll run on you before you move away huh?” I nodded my head and looked at Xavier I didn’t want to tell anyone else about this yet but I wanted answers before we left.

“Actually I need you to do something else while we’re here today but you can’t tell anyone.” I looked at Xavier who was shaking his head.

“I’m sorry Xavier but I need answers before we move away.” He nodded his head, he understood this could change everything. Not many people knew what happened to me while Zeke had be so if I turned up pregnant everyone would assume it was Xaviers until the pup was born and then if it looked nothing like Xavier they would know.

“Xavier give him the test please.” He handed his grandfather the test. He looked at it nodded his head and walked out. He came back a few minutes later with an ultrasound machine.

“Lie back please, this might be a little cold.” He squirted some gel on my belly and move the wand around on my belly, he pointed to the center of the screen.

“You see that flickering right there? That’s the pups heartbeat.” I couldn’t help but cry. This was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Zekes baby or not, growing a life was absolutely wonderful. I look over at Xavier, I couldn’t quite read his face.

“How far along do you think I am?” He moved the wand around more pressing if a little harder into my belly,

“You look to be 4-5 weeks along right now.” I hadn’t been back at the pack house that long. It was Zekes baby.

“Are you still wanting me to do the other test today?” I shook my head no, he turned the machine off and handed me some paper towels to wipe off my belly.

“Okay, well then we’re done here for the day, once you move to Colorado you need to see the doctor there in 2 weeks, I will send them your information and history.” He walked out of the room and I just looked at Xavier.

“Please say something.” He looked back at me and smiled.

“Avery I don’t care, I don’t care if this is Zekes pup,, he’s dead. I will raise and love this pup as if it were my own. I promise you that, and you as well.” He walked over and leaned down to kiss my belly. It made me happy that he was so accepting. We walked out of the office hand in hand. We walked up to pack house.

“I still need to go say goodbye to my parents and brother, I’ll meet you down here in 10 minutes.” I walked into the house and called my mom.

M- hey we’re about to leave, where are you?-

D-oh dear I’m sorry I forgot you guys were leaving today, we went into town for a day out. Wait until we get back. It’ll be just a couple more hours.-

M- I’m sorry mom we can’t wait that long, we have a flight to catch. Just come see me soon okay? And make sure Felix knows I love him.-

D- I will sweetheart and we love you too.-

I hung up the phone and walked back outside.

“They weren’t home.” I shrugged my shoulders trying not to make it obvious I was sad they weren’t here.

“Come on princess, let’s go we’ll miss our flight.” He opened the car door and held his hand out to help me in. We drove to the airport and made it just in time for our flight. We settled into our seats and I laid my head on his shoulder. The last thing I felt was him kiss me on the head before I fell asleep. I was excited but also extremely nervous for this new adventure but I knew with Xavier by my side, I could do anything.
