Chapter 16
Catalina Bastian appointed Ryan Jayden to guard her during her morning walk around a pyramid-shaped park one mile away from the southern tip of the Palm Springs International Airport. She was dressed in a sweatsuit and tennis shoes, while Ryan wore shorts and sneakers. He waited for her instructions when they reached the entrance to the trail.
"What's wrong?" Catalina asked.
"I wanted your signal," Ryan answered. "I can be in front or behind you, whichever you wish."
"At my side, please."
