Special Chapter: Diary
Dear Diary,
As you know, I’m Chrysanthemum Anderson. Age 18, but I’m 33 in this timeline. At first, I was confused. I was full of queries, I can’t seek even one answer. I hated my life more than anyone did, but I didn’t imagine that it will bring me here in the future; where we live our lives like fugitives, and the government was treating us like criminals.
I didn’t know what happened. I just want to run away from my scientist father; who’s disguised being a university professor, and my bipolar mother who has two personalities. I’m tired of being their puppet and they started using me for their own benefit. I’m already legal, and I have the right to be independent. Maybe that’s the trigger why I’m here 15 years in the future? I'm craving independence.
On my first day here, I thought I was dreaming. I couldn’t imagine my life here. Just… what happened after the taxi I’ve ridden collided with another vehicle? Who’s that man who was with me when I lost my consciousness? And why did he mention something about the future? What about the gray mice?
I don’t know.
I only know one thing. I need to survive here and I need to find that guy here in the future. We need to survive, as a group for me to accomplish my mission here; to save humanity from extinction, due to the drugs that kept being injected into them.
I met Alvis Coeus Anderson, and it turns out that he’s the king here in the Ozainus Dome. According to Daphne, the Ozainus Dome is a glass-like structure that isolates the human being from the threat of the Electrocytos. I don’t personally see it, but that’s what they’ve said and I’m really hoping that I could see it once. They also mentioned something about Electrocytos, that’s been active lately, and I didn’t have any idea about that.
They still believed that I’m having a “temporary amnesia” but little did they know that I’m not me. I mean, I’m not my 33-year-old self. I’m just an 18-year-old kid who’s stuck here in the future and I can’t get out.
One week passed after we started our hellish training, and Daphne was not joking when she said that we won’t be able to taste ‘rest’ again. I’m writing this diary during our one-hour break.
Keith who has an ability that revolves around strength is now our acting commander. Vane took Jairo’s job as our personal healthcare, while Jairo’s trying to be our mechanical guru. Xyxo took Keith’s job as our strength machine. Sy is now working as our new techy. Reikkie was learning about tips and tricks to weaken one’s presence. Daphne is now training herself how to connect to nature. While me, I’m more about reading some strategies and plans while looking upside down.
Day one is our horror. We all nearly die! Okay, that was exaggerated. But, we almost did! Keith is now in charge of our training and he just bosses us around, but if Daphne tests him for his decision-making, he needs to drink a soy sauce every time he picks the wrong choice. A great commander shouldn’t just about being book smart, he should be street-smart also.
On day one, Vane nearly killed Reikkie when he was about to put mercury compound in her wounds. But thanks to Jairo, he prevented that murder, and he lectured him again and again, reminding Vane that mercury’s not a joke.
While Jairo, he’s having a hard time experimenting with some mechanical stuff, among us, he’s the one who’s the fastest to learn. He already invented a robot after 7 hours, and he even named it an Automaton. Just, wow.
Xyxo was always like a faucet when he delivers water back and forth. Our headquarters was 5 kilometers away from the water station outside the Ozainus Dome. We need water to survive.
Sy literally cried when a virus got entered into Vane’s system, and Vane threw a tantrum when he learned about that. He almost broke Sy’s makeup collection, causing a World War III in the headquarters.
As for Reikkie, she’s doing a good job hiding her presence. One time, she used everything she’d learned and tried to rob the main facility for the second time. Believe it or not, she succeeded. She’s bragging about that mineral she obtained from us.
Often, I caught Daphne talking to the only flower here in our room― the Chrysanthemum. I don’t if it’s alarming, but she’s started to reading that flower some books, and she even sang to them. One time, she cooked food for that flower while the rest of us were starving to death.
As for me, nothing changed. I kept reading hundreds of books a day but I couldn’t understand a single thing. Just… how does Reikkie manage to do these? I’m even looking upside down. My lower body was on the bed while my upper body was on the floor. Am I a bat or something?
So, diary, I’m going to end my entry here. I just happened to see this notebook below one of those cabinets in here. Bye! Daphne’s started yelling again.
