Chapter-39

She was not prepared for his visit even though she knew he arrived. Her mind was blank all of a sudden. Charan raised his sword at her, "Who are you? " He asked in a tough note. "I.. I came to pay respect for the dead." "Pay respect?? You don't look like a girl from the Sayyonee tribe." "Sir, let's move to another place. After all, let their souls rest in peace." She asked him with an unhappy face. Abhik was really impressed with her guts and thought of it. He whispered to Charan and they moved to the front gate of Sayyonee, now just a pile of burnt rocks. Yuvan was silent and was simply looking at her with an inner smile which contradicted the actions of Charan. On the way she gestured to cobras in their sign language carefully ' not to meddle'. "Now tell us, why are you here??" his sword still pointed at her." They helped me once and sheltered me. So I came to pray for them." "Fine, now let me ask you, who are you?" She touched the sword with her two fingers, grasping it. Charan took the sword back and looked at his master. Yuvan gestured to Abhik and he took their badge " We are court officials from Dashur and are here to investigate the arson in Sayyonee." "arson??" She said in a sarcastic way. She looked at them intensely, "Ok. Please come with me. I have what you are in search of." She moved and started to walk, clearly having a plan in her head. Abhik and Charan looked at Yuvan for the next step. "Let's go." He also followed her as he was interested in her mystery. They followed her to the border of Dahshur and Sayyonee. "Sister, where are we going?" Abhik asked her. But he received no answer. "Bruddah, is this a trap?" Abhik turned back to his brother who was oddly silent. He nodded at himself but noticed that Charan was taking each step with caution. "Di.." As they were walking they saw a boy running towards her. He stooped before her and hugged her warmly, "Di, where were you? I was worried about you." He raised his head and saw three big men staring at him; suddenly remembering his di's voice. 'In future if you ever meet a stranger, look at your di and act accordingly.' He realized that it's his time to perform. "Ahye! who are these people di?" "They are some friends, prepare some tea" He nodded and went inside feeling a sort of satisfaction inside. "He is my brother." They looked unsatisfied at her answer "How come.." "Let's go inside, I will give you an answer. Please" She showed the way to her house and welcomed them inside. They occupied the seats around the table and waited for her words. "My name is Apeksha. I am from Hi.. Hiranga."
