My Alpha's Luna

'Our mate wants us!' Shadow was super excited.

I, however, am not amused. This was all so sudden. I know nothing about him and this pack! How am I supposed to be a Luna? This is just not okay.

"I know this is all so sudden," my mother's voice was soft and assuring, "we will figure this all out. In the meantime, why don't you rest for a bit. Your body is going through a huge change right now.

I know it is. I just don't understand why so sudden.

"Let me help you up the stairs," Beta Clark had an arm under me to keep me stable and from falling off the steps.

by the time I entered the house, I made a be-line for the bathroom and threw up.

'Shadow, why is this happening so fast?' All I can think about was the bile coming up from my stomach. There was nothing in there to even come out.

'He is an Alpha. Alpha's offspring will always have a faster rate of growing. They are also the quickest in pregnancy. Don't you retain anything from High school?' Shadow sighed.

I mean, I did a little. My pack always made a subject called Future Luna. All females had to take the course.

As I was finishing dry heaving the last remains out of my stomach that was non-existent, a thought occurred to me. We didn't have this type of training.

'Of course not. They left this out because it is not beautiful. It will be painful. The pregnancy is going to be faster. Pregnancy lasts 6 months instead of 9.' Shadow had a meekness in her voice.

'This would have been fantastic to know!' I growled. If many of the girls knew this, I bet they would think twice before they wanted to be Lunas.

"Sweet heart," my mother came in and sat down next to me. She brought in crackers, a bottle of water, and a small little white pill. "For your nausea. I need to do an ultrasound. I wish you had told me you were pregnant, I wouldn't have taken this job. I wouldn't have taken you away from your mate." her head was low, and sham entered her voice.

I took everything. I wanted this nausea to stop, and I needed something in my stomach after feeling so empty. "Mom, it's okay. You didn't take me away from my mate, and I didn't know I was pregnant until literally you wrote it down."

My mother shook her head, "How did you not know?"

I didn't have the heart to tell her, tell her my mate is the Alpha. I didn't even want to have the ultra sound either, but she helped me to my feet and took me to her office. She did a lot of in-house visits at our old pack.

Before I knew it, she had me on the table. The pill was making me feel a bit fuzzy. "Mom, what type of pill did you give me? It is making me feel like I am on a boat."

Her head spun around so fast, and I can see her going through her medicine cabinet. "Let me give you this shot." Small panick was in her voice as she gave me a shot in my thigh. "You and your baby will be safe."

I let out a small sigh of relief and eased myself further into the table. My whole body melted. "What is that?" I purred.

She lifted my shirt and applied the jelly to my abdomen as she used the ultra-sound machine and looked at the monitor. Not a word. Her lips pursed together tightly. "3 weeks." She pushed a few more buttons and nodded. "The medicine I gave you is to help Lunas transition into their pregnancies more easily."

My eyes widened. She knows. She knows this is Alpha Mark's child. "Mom, I -" she held her hand up.

"No need to explain yourself to me, Luna." She had a huge smile on her face. "Pleaee allow me to assist you through this. As my patient. As your mother" She asked instead of demanded. She always had a way with her words.

"Only if you swear to keep this a secret until I am ready." I wanted to cry. I have seen her care for a lot of Lunas and a lot of other pack members. She was always professional. I trust her.

"Secret is safe with me, and Alpha Mark. He would need to know." Her head was low.

"I know. I'm not ready to tell him yet." My head hung in shame. "He already has a Luna in place. I feel like I will just be a mistress."

'Don't think like that! He will make you Luna instead of her!' Shadow growled.

"I highly doubt that," My mother had a grin on her face, "As Luna, you should know that Melissa is barren. She would lose her title as a prospecting Luna. That is what happens when you use the knock-off of wolfsbane contraceptive."

My eyes were wide. "Did she do it to herself?"

"Yes, she did! Infant, I did not even have to use bloodwork to figure that out. She had it in her bag. The least she could have done was go see the pack house doctor and get the right ones. " My mother chuckled to herself. "She had a friend that grows this stuff, but little did she know she harvested the wrong part of the plant. That was an old medical journal she read out of. Seems like wherever her pack was, she needs to have them update their doctor."

If she was doing this to herself, how many other she-wolves did she give this information to, and how many of them listened. "Mom, we both know that having old information is wrong and damaging. What could happen?"

"She didn't ingest to much of it, just enough to stop her from having a heat, for months" my mother shook her head and cleaned the jell off of my abdomen, "She did a number on her uterus from doing that. It could take at least a year for her to heal."

When she was done, I sat straight up. "I wilm find out what pack she belongs to," I proclaimed, a d figure out what she was doing with those rouges.

'If they are rouges,' Shadow scoffed.

I never thought about that being a possibility. They could have been part of her pack, but why mask themselves as rouges?

"Let the Alpha take care of that. You, my dear, need to focus on resting. This will be a brutal 6 months for you. Each month will be painful. Each month will be fast. You will be going through a horrible change, and it will leave you a bit weak." My mother helped me off the table and walked over to the couch.

I was speechless. Weak? Painful? I never wanted any of this to happen so fast. What was he thinking?

Fury overwhelmed me. Fear was swirling. I can tell I needed to get ahold of myself, my emotions, before I could speak to anyone.

"I will have to talk to Alpha Mark about this. Because Alphas, they don't know how this transition is going to go. Every Alpha I talk to had no idea how the first round of pregnancies take to the Luna. Some have gone a bit into the crazy side. Some where level-headed. All were tired and a bit too weak to do much of any type of decision making." My mom handed me some grapes.

I popped a grape into my mouth. The juice and the taste exploded into my mouth. I've eaten about a thousand of these in the past. The taste was out of this world. I didn't realize I let out a small moan.

"Taste, hearing, smell, those will all be heightened. It is best to just stay in a comfortable place where it isn't noisy. Your sight will be the most impacted. " My mother turned on the small light that was on the aide table, "I advise staying away from the overhead lights for a while. It will give you a migraine. As for over-the-counter medicines go, they are off limits to you. They will have no true effect on you, and you could cause more harm to your body. If you need anything, you need to get me, " she said. "Understood?"

"Why do I feel like the next thing you're going to say is that I will be under house arrest?" I had to laugh. It was the only thing I could do. My head was so far gone that I didn't want to comprehend anything that was going to happen.

"Might as well be," my mother shrugged and was heading out the door. "I need to go to Alpha Mark now. If you need me, tell me. You should be good for a few hours."

With that information, she left. She didn't tell me that I couldn't use my laptop. I tried to get up off the couch, but I sat right back down. I was feeling a bit off. Like I can't move. Instead, I grabbed the TV remote and turned it on. I had to turn the volume down to nothing. It was so loud.

What to watch? I just flicked through the channels and started to dose off into sleep. I just needed to turn my brain off. A little sleep shouldn't be harmful, right?

As my eyes closed and my breath became steady, I drifted off to sleep. As the TV was giving off a small buzzing sound, I fell right to sleep.
