“You heard wrong,” I blurted out, the words tripping over each other in my rush to kill the rumor. “We—I mean, we aren’t together.”
Adrian stepped closer, a smug grin playing on his lips that made my stomach turn. “What are you saying, baby? Does your best friend really not know?”
My jaw dropped. I stared at him, my pulse thudding in my ears. What the hell is wrong with him?
