A second explosion struck the bunker and it shook violently. Fire slapped up the walls, consuming everything in its path. Smoke clung in the air and the acrid scent of burning metal and powder filled the nostrils at every breath. Sofia and Luca stood facing each other, backs pressed to the crumbling concrete wall, as bullets raked the shadows. “Anatoly set us up,” Sofia said angrily, shoving a fresh clip into her pistol. “This is not just a trap he’s trying to set us on fire.” Luca brushed soot from his face and focused on the exit.
