Rhae's POV

The three of us left Alexis's house to go to mine. It was just a block away so it wouldn't take us long to get there. When we walked out the door and I could feel the eerie quiet in the air. As we're walking I begin to look around the street trying to take in the area. We were just a few feet from Alexis's house when I realized why everything felt so eerie to me and I suddenly stop, which caused Chase and Alexis to stop and look at me.

"Um guys, have you really looked around at all?" I asked them. They both started to really look at the area we were in. "Where are all the bodies?" I asked

"She is right there is no bodies any where. I mean it wasn't that long ago we were attacked. How can there be nothing but emptiness?" Alexis asked

"I don't know. This is really strange, there should be blood and destruction every where but it just looks like everything was abandoned." I voiced my opinion.

"This is crazy, we heard the screaming my mom had blood on her shirt. I don't understand how there is nothing. " Alexis was getting frantic.

"Hey, it's going to be alright, we will figure this out. " Chase reassured her.

"Come on guys let's just get to my house and check out things there. We can talk more once we get there, maybe there are people hiding." I told them and continued to walk to my house.

We arrived at my house and I cautiously walked up to the front door. Chase and Alexis behind me keeping their eyes out on the surrounding area I slowly turned the door handle and pushed it open. I walked into the entry and slowed my breathing. Alexis put her hand on my shoulder and we walked toward the living room. I needed to gather my thoughts for a minute so I sat down on a chair. There was nothing out of place, it seemed like nothing had happened here.

"Alexis why don't you show Chase my brother's room. I will go to mine and gather some clothes for myself. " I told her.

I watched them both leave then I stood up and headed to my room. I grabbed one of my bags and started throwing a many clothes in it that I could fit. I also made sure to grab some of my bathroom things to put in my bag as well. I looked around to see if there was anything else that I wanted to grab before heading back to the living room. I walked to my dresser and looked at my personal items. One thing stood out to me more than anything and that was a picture of my family and I. In the picture we were somewhere on vacation when we took this. My mom and dad were beside each other with their arms wrapped around each other. They were staring at each other looking deeply into their eyes with the kindest smiles on their face. You could tell just by looking at them just how much they loved each other. My brother and I were in the picture too. I was on his back like he was giving me a piggy back ride, both of us laughing in the picture. We were a happy family always doing things together. I grabbed the picture and put that in the bag to. I headed back to the living room.

Alexis was waiting for me, sharing the same look I could feel myself having. We were confused, scared, and wanted to know about our families.

"Is there more we should grab? I found some clothes and a bag in your brother's room, Chase is packing the bag with things."

"I don't know, should we grab more food? I think we should grab an extra bag for Lily to use. We should find some stuff for her as well. " I answered

"I think we can grab some things for Lily at the pack house, you know the Luna always had charity events that dealt with children. There will probably be some clothes and toys there for her. We could also grab extra food from there, the pantry is always full plus we could pack up a cooler so we can get more." Alexis suggested

"I hope one of their suvs is still there. That will be big enough for all our stuff we can take with us and extra things." I agreed with her. At that moment Chase came back into the living room with a huge bag packed.

"Rhae, I can only imagine what you're going through right now and I just want to tell you how sorry I am. " Chase said to me

"Thank you, I really appreciate that. It just feels so strange coming here and not seeing anyone. I have everything I want we can head to the pack house now." I looked around the room again probably for the last time. As I was getting ready to pick up my bag a thought occurred to me.

"My brother!" I loudly said

"What about him?" asked Alexis

"Well he wasn't here remember. He lives in another pack with his mate. He could be alright and he has no clue what happened here." I told them.

I can't believe I forgot. I started frantically looking around for the phone. I needed to call him he needs to know what happened and I needed to know if he was alright. I finally found the phone and dialed his number. I hope he picks up.

"Hello, you have reached Sara and Reid. We cannot come to the phone right now, but please leave your name and number and we will call you back as soon as possible. " beep.

"I got his answering machine. I hope he's alright." I was disappointed I couldn't talk to him.

"Hey, you can try again later at my house. "

"Come on, let's get to the pack house. You guys need more rest and a good breakfast. We can figure more stuff out once we have settled for awhile." Chase motioned for us to the door.

I took one last look around the house before shutting the door behind me for the last time. Tears starting to roll down my checks. I couldn't help the sadness that was coming over me. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my parents and now I would probably never see them again. Alexis wrapped her arm around my shoulder, tears also rolling down her face. We silently cried as we continued on our way to the pack house.

Chase POV

This was all so different from the other packs I went to look at. There was destruction every where, so how is it that there was no proof of an attack here. No bodies, no fires, not a single thing looked out of place. Right now though we needed to get to the pack house get what we could and get back. I had a shift to prepare for today, the girls needed rest they were clearly overwhelmed but the events that have occurred.

We walked silently to the pack house, but still there was no sign of any survivors. Every street we passed was the same just empty no sign of any attack or life. Alexis was not exaggerating when she had told me they were a small pack not long after we headed to the pack house we were there. There were three suvs parked at the front of the house. Alexis walked up to the closest one to us.

"I think this one will fit all our stuff and us. We just need to find the keys. I would assume they will be in the entry behind the desk. " Alexis stated

"Well let's go check things out. I will go check the cells see if there is any one there. If anything we can at least release them." I told them

"I think we should split up. It will take us less time to get what we came for if we each go different ways. Besides I have no intention of going to the cells." Rhae suggested

"Alright. I will check the cells and you two gather some more supplies and look for keys. We'll meet back here in ten minutes."

The girls agreed with me and we separated to go our different ways. I walked to the dungeons not sure if I would find someone alive or not, but it was worth a shot to check. I walked down the stairs and came face to face with nothing. All the cell doors were wide open, the prisoners either killed and removed or let go. Either way just more emptiness and more questions that needed answers. I went back up to meet with the girls after not finding anything here.
