Alexis POV
The shack we found was small, but since it was just us it would work for now. Rhae was crying, well so was I we were scared and worried. We entered the shack into a small living room enough space for a couch and chair. I could see the small kitchen off to the left and there were two doors to the right. There was also a door straight in front of us. I walked to the door in front of us first as Rhae sat on the couch. It was a small master bedroom with a bed. Seems like someone had once lived here, but with the cobwebs I would say it has been awhile. The other two rooms that I had first seen were another bedroom and a bathroom.
"Rhae, I think we will be able to sleep here tonight. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom."
"OK. Lex, I'm scared. Even my wolf is worried. What is happening at home? What about our families? Why did we leave without them?" She asked as she cried.
"I don't know Rhae. Aura says we will be okay as long as we stay together. She won't tell me why both our wolves came early. Has Zepher said anything?" I asked as I sat next to her on the couch.
"No, she won't explain either. "
I know we were tired, but we didn't want to fall asleep we were so scared that rogues would find us. However, sleep got the best of us and we were both out quickly. I thought I would have nightmares of the attack, but thankfully I found myself in a beautiful meadow. A lake was just up ahead of me with a waterfall on the right side. On the left I could see a rock flat and long, enough for multiple people to sit on. I walked closer to the rock because I could see a beautiful woman sitting there. Her hair was silver, shiny, and went down to the grass. The dress she wore was also silver. I knew who she was the moment I walked closer to her. I had so many questions that I needed answered and she could give them to me.
"Hello Alexis, we don't have much time. Do you know who I am?" She asked.
"Yes I do. You are Selene, the Moon Goddess. You gift us with our wolves and match us to our mates." I answered.
"That's right and I know you have many questions for me, but I can only explain some things to you." she motioned for me to sit down by her. "You and Rhae are destined to do great things in your life. Your paths have changed, paths that came sooner then expected. I'm sorry about your pack, this attack by rogues is not the first. Yes, that's right there have been others. I do not know why it is happening. That is up to you to figure out I cannot interfere. I allowed Aura and Zepher to help guide and protect you in this journey before your shift because you two must stay together and alive at all cost. Your destiny depends on it. I'm sorry I cannot say more, your paths will start once you awake and you find others. Now you must hurry because company is coming. " She told me and motioned for me to step into the lake.
I followed where she pointed and although I was still confused and wanted answers, I knew I had to listen to what she said. Very few wolves get to meet Selene, and I was honored. It was my job now to find the answers we are looking for. Rhae was shaking me trying to wake me up. I could hear people outside. I hope they weren't rogues, what if they found us. Rhae and I had no where to run, not that it really mattered by the time I stood up the door was pushed open and there stood four others.
There were two older people, one of which was holding a small sleeping girl. The fourth person was a boy looking to be about my age. I could tell they were wolves but they didn't smell like rogues thankfully. The younger boy was very handsome about six- one, muscular, tanned with brown hair and chestnut eyes. Aura was going crazy looking at him. She was pacing and jumping and just wouldn't settled down. He smelled wonderful a combination of a forest after it rained and a campfire. Two very strange smells together. Rhae grabbed my hand pulling me from my thoughts.
"We are sorry to barge in like this on your home. We were just trying to find a place to rest and hide. Please do not harm us. We will leave" I told them, the younger man gave me a small smile and the older gentleman just chuckled a little with his arm around the older woman.
Chase POV
Mr. and Mrs. Harris seemed so exhausted with the amount of walking we have done. I had offered to carry Lily for awhile to give them a break. I was young and strong it would be nothing for me to carry her. They allowed me to for awhile, she felt light as a feather so tiny. She was sleeping and we have been walking for hours as well and it was getting really dark out. I was starting to think we wouldn't find a place when we came across a small rundown shack. Mr. Harris said there were people in there he could smell two different scents, and could tell they were not rogues. I handed Lily back to Mrs. Harris then walked up to the door and pushed it open.
I probably should have knocked as this could have been their home, but I was tired and needed to rest. There were two young women standing in front of the couch. I could tell they had been crying and must of been terrified. The girl on the left still had tears in her eyes, she had long red hair, green eyes, and tan. The girl on the right was breath-taking, her hair long blonde, blue eyes and also tan. She smelled of roses and lavender. Carson was drooling all over himself. I scolded him for being ridiculous and acting like a lunatic. When the girl spoke it was just as soft and sweet as her smell.
I gave her a small smile as she apologized for being in the shack and could hear Mr. Harris chuckle. Seems we weren't the only ones seeking a place to hide and I wasn't going fault them for being scared.
"No, we don't live here either. We were also looking for a place to rest. Both of our packs were attacked by rogues. I'm Chase and this is Mr. and Mrs. Harris, and their granddaughter Lily." I said to them.
"Oh my! Our pack was also attacked, tonight actually. We ran and not sure just how far away we are or if any one has survived." The blonde told us. I couldn't take my eyes away from her she was so beautiful. I felt bad for them not knowing anything about their pack, but my guess is there is noone left.
"Mrs. Harris, there is a bedroom behind me. It seems to be the master, I'm sure the three of you will be able to sleep there with no problem. The bathroom is there and another room beside it. " She said and pointed to each room.
"Do you know how long you've been here?" I asked her.
"No, once we got here we searched the place and then fell asleep. We woke up with you guys outside. My name is Alexis and this is Rhae. We are both seventeen so no wolves, it's why we fled." Alexis explained
"I turn eighteen tomorrow, and needed a place to rest and safe enough to shift. You both are more then welcome to stick with us. We can even head to your pack and check for survivors." I offered
Although I knew they had no wolf they looked at each other as if communicating silently. "We will think about it. " Alexis said.
"Why don't the two of you take the other room. I have no problem staying on the couch." I said. Rhae thanked me and they both walked to the bedroom. I could hear them talking to each other, probably deciding if they should travel with us. I hope they do, I just couldn't stop thinking about Alexis. She was beautiful beyond words and I like how she had a take charge attitude. With me being of Alpha blood it's one of the things we hope for in our Luna.
We needed to stay here at least until after my shift. We could discuss our travel plans in the morning. If the girls agreed we could head to their pack and see the damage the rogues caused. I hope that I could find clues or information on these attacks. I walked to the couch and sat down. "You know what this means right? Alexis's smell is causing me to go crazy. I think she's our mate Chase." Carson stated.
