CHAPTER TWO

555 Words
Julian sat behind his desk, staring at the clock on his wall. He was waiting for Ava's decision, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. As he waited, Julian's thoughts turned to Ava. He had chosen her for this proposal because of her strength and determination. He had watched her from afar, impressed by the way she had taken care of her family after her father's business went bankrupt. But Julian's motivations for proposing this deal went beyond just finding a suitable partner. He had a specific goal in mind, one that required him to present a certain image to the world. Just as Julian was lost in thought, his assistant walked in with a file in her hand. "Sir, I've done some more research on Ava Morales," she said. "She's a hard worker, and her family's reputation is... complicated." Julian raised an eyebrow. "Complicated?" he repeated. The assistant nodded. "Yes, sir. There are some rumors about her father's business practices. But Ava herself seems to be a good person. She's well-liked by her colleagues and friends." Julian nodded thoughtfully. He was intrigued by Ava's story, and he was starting to feel a sense of excitement about their potential partnership. As Julian sat in his office, he couldn't help but think about Ava's potential reaction to his proposal. He knew she was hesitant, and he couldn't blame her. The deal he was offering was unconventional, to say the least. Just then, his phone rang, breaking the silence. It was Ava. "Julian, I've been thinking," she said, her voice firm. "I'm willing to accept your proposal, but I need some conditions to be met." Julian's eyes narrowed, intrigued. "What kind of conditions?" he asked, his voice smooth. "I want a clause that protects me from any potential backlash," Ava said. "I don't want my family's reputation to be dragged down by this arrangement." Julian nodded, impressed by her shrewdness. "I can agree to that," he said. "What else?" "I want a guarantee that you'll provide me with all the necessary support and resources to help me play the role of your wife," Ava said. "I don't want to be left in the dark about anything." Julian smiled, admiring her determination. "I'll make sure you have everything you need," he said. "Anything else?" Ava hesitated for a moment before speaking. "I want to know what's really going on, Julian. What's the real reason behind this proposal?" Julian's expression turned guarded, and he paused for a moment before responding. "Let's discuss that later, Ava," he said. "For now, let's focus on the logistics of our arrangement." Ava's voice was firm. "I need to know what I'm getting myself into, Julian. I deserve transparency." Julian's eyes locked onto the phone, his mind racing with how much to reveal. He knew he couldn't keep everything hidden forever. "Alright, Ava," he said finally. "I'll tell you more about my reasons when the time is right. But for now, let's just say that this arrangement benefits both of us." Ava's silence spoke volumes, but she eventually agreed to meet him at his penthouse apartment the next day to finalize the details. As Julian hung up the phone, he couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. What would the future hold for him and Ava? Only time would tell.
