Austin's eyes snapped open as he felt a hand on his shoulder. He was disoriented for a moment, unsure of where he was or who was touching him. But as he looked up, he saw Marcus standing over him, a smug look on his face. "Good morning, Austin," Marcus said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're still sleeping with the enemy." Austin's eyes narrowed as he sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. What was Marcus talking about? And then he remembered. Jackie. He had spent the night at her apartment, and now Marcus was standing over him, a look of triumph on his face. "How did you find me?" Austin demanded, his voice cold. Marcus shrugged. "I have my ways. But that's not the point. The point is that you're still seeing her, despite everything I've told you." Austin's eyes flashed with anger. What was Marcus's problem? Why was he so obsessed with Jackie? "I don't know what your problem is, Marcus," Austin said, his voice rising. "But I'm telling you, I can handle myself. I don't need your advice or your interference." Marcus's smile grew wider. "Oh, I think you do," he said. "You see, Austin, I've been doing some digging. And I've found out some very interesting things about your little girlfriend." Austin's heart sank as he listened to Marcus's words. What had he found out? And how was he going to use it against him? "What are you talking about?" Austin demanded, his voice cold. Marcus leaned in, a conspiratorial look on his face. "I'm talking about Jackie's past," he said. "I'm talking about the things she's done, the secrets she's kept." Austin's eyes narrowed as he listened to Marcus's words. What was he talking about? What secrets had Jackie kept? But before he could ask any questions, Marcus turned and walked away, leaving Austin feeling frustrated and confused. What was going on? And what secrets had Jackie kept? Austin's mind was racing as he got out of bed and began to get dressed. He needed to talk to Jackie, to find out what was going on. But as he walked out of the apartment, he couldn't shake the feeling that he was walking into a trap. That Marcus was waiting for him, ready to strike. And as he walked into the office, he saw Marcus standing by the window, a smug look on his face. "Good morning, Austin," Marcus said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're right on time." Austin's eyes narrowed as he walked over to his desk. What was Marcus's game? And how was he going to play it? As he sat down at his desk, Austin couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Marcus was up to something, and he was determined to find out what it was. But as he looked over at Marcus, he saw something that made his blood run cold. A folder, sitting on Marcus's desk, with Jackie's name on it. What was in that folder? And how was Marcus going to use it against him? Austin's mind was racing as he tried to come up with a plan. He needed to get that folder, to find out what secrets Marcus had uncovered. But as he looked over at Marcus, he saw a look of triumph on his face. Marcus knew that he had the upper hand, and he was going to use it to destroy Austin. And as Austin sat there, feeling helpless and frustrated, he knew that he was in for the fight of his life. As Austin sat at his desk, trying to come up with a plan to get the folder from Marcus, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that Marcus was a ruthless businessman, and he would stop at nothing to get what he wanted. Austin's eyes narrowed as he thought about his next move. He knew that he couldn't confront Marcus directly, not yet. He needed to gather more information, to find out what was in that folder and how Marcus planned to use it. Just as Austin was starting to formulate a plan, his phone buzzed with an incoming text from Jackie. "Hey, what's going on?" she asked. "I saw Marcus talking to you earlier, and you looked really upset." Austin hesitated, unsure of how much to tell Jackie. He didn't want to worry her, but he also didn't want to keep her in the dark. "It's just Marcus being Marcus," Austin replied, trying to downplay the situation. "He's just trying to stir up trouble, as usual." Jackie's response was immediate. "I don't like it," she said. "I don't trust Marcus. He's always been jealous of you, Austin. I think he's trying to sabotage you." Austin's eyes narrowed as he read Jackie's text. She was right, of course. Marcus had always been jealous of him, and he would stop at nothing to bring him down. But Austin couldn't let Marcus get to him. He needed to stay focused, to keep his eyes on the prize. "Don't worry about it," Austin replied, trying to reassure Jackie. "I can handle Marcus. Just focus on your work, and let me take care of him." Jackie's response was immediate. "I can take care of myself, Austin. But thanks for looking out for me." Austin smiled as he read Jackie's text. He knew that she was a strong, capable woman, and he admired her for it. But he also knew that he couldn't let his feelings for her cloud his judgment. He needed to stay focused, to keep his eyes on the prize. As Austin sat at his desk, trying to come up with a plan to take down Marcus, he couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. He knew that he had to be careful, that he had to make sure that Austin didn't suspect a thing. But Marcus was confident. He knew that he had the upper hand, and he was going to use it to win. As he sat at his desk, plotting and scheming, Marcus knew that he was in for a wild ride. But he was ready for it. He was ready to take down Austin, no matter what it took.
