Liam's POV
I have been back in the pack for about 3 months now and have been learning about the responsibilities of the pack Alpha. I have always known that the Alpha position was a lot of responsibility, but to be involved first hand is very different than just watching my father, like I did before I left for the exchange program. I am currently on the training grounds with the head warrior watching all of our first year warriors and assisting them when needed. We typically do not allow any member to start training until they turn 15, although we do keep all of our youngsters in very good shape throughout their childhood to help them maintain the endurance of training. As I was helping two boys with learning how to block a specific attack, I received a mindlink from my father asking for me, the beta, gamma and lead patrol officers to report to his office for a very important meeting.
"Scott, Tony I apologize but I am needed to take care of something very important. Please continue with what you both were doing and I will be back another day to help both of you learn the moves I was trying to show you." I said to them.
"Thank you Alpha Liam" they said to me in unison.
"I'm not Alpha yet boys." I mentioned.
"That might be true, but all of us already consider you to be the Alpha because you are willing to do anything for anyone in the pack, no matter who they are or what their rank is." Scott said. "And I want to become one of the best warriors this pack has so that I can be a body guard to any of the important high ranked members in our pack."
"That's a very good ambition to have Scott. As long as you continue working hard and training, you can do anything you set your mind to. You are already doing a fantastic job, so keep up the hard work." I said as I turned to walk away. I headed to my fathers' office as fast as I could. I wanted to know what was so important that my father called all of us to the office at once.
Upon arriving at the fourth floor of the packhouse, I was greeted by my best friend, Max, who was one of our youngest lead patrol officers.
"Do you know what this meeting is about?" He asked me as we got closer to my fathers' office.
"Not a clue. To be honest, I hope it doesn't have anything to do with rouges." I said back to him as we entered the office.
"Everyone, please take a seat. We have a situation and I need all of you to help as much as possible with this." My father said as everyone present started to fill-in around the large meeting table.
"I received a call not even 20 minutes ago from a gentleman looking for his daughter. She went for an early morning run in the woods behind their house and he thought she might have been noticed by any of our patrol officers. I informed him that no one on our patrol teams had reported anything to me about a girl who was lost in the woods." My father said.
"May I ask why we should take interest in a human who is lost in the woods?" another lead officer, Richard, asked.
"This pack will help because the girl he talked about is not a human, she is a werewolf like us. And according to what little information I was able to get out of him, she is very important to our King. Is that enough reason for you, Richard?" My father spat at him.
"Yes, Alpha." Richard said, slumping back in his chair.
"May we know what the girl looks like so we can identify her if someone does happen to stumble across her path." Max asked.
"The information he gave me mentioned that she is around 5'6" with long dirty blonde hair that reaches to the middle of her back. She also has very bright green eyes and freckles that are on her face."
As I was listening to my father's description of this girl, I started to think about one girl I knew who perfectly matched that description in every way. There was only one problem; the girl I knew was on the other side of the world and there was absolutely no way it could be her.
"Did the gentleman you talked to give you her name?" Maxed asked again.
"Yes, he did. Her name is Alexandra Stone." My father said.
My heart stopped for a brief second and my face turned pale upon hearing her name. How could this be? She was on the other side of the world. Everyone in the room looked at me with curious eyes.
"Son, are you alright?"
I couldn't answer.
"LIAM" My father's voice boomed, which was enough to shake me out of my state of shock. I released the breath of air that I was holding as I looked at my father before I spoke.
"She was one of the lower classmen at the academy I attended. She had just finished her sophomore year when I came home. Why would he be calling you? Aren't they supposed to be back in Australia? Why would she be here?" I started to go into a fit of hysterics as I continued to stare at my father.
"Son, do you have one of your yearbooks where we could possibly get a picture of her so all of our warriors would have a visual aide and not just a description?" He asked me, moving closer to the chair I was sitting in.
"You don't need her yearbook photo. I have many photos on my phone of her. She was the girl I was always telling you about dad. The one that I said was special." I said, and my father's eyes lit up in recognition of what I was talking about.
