Jason's POV

After another ten minutes of looking around the area for any evidence that Alex had been here, I noticed a small needle near one of the trees. I conjured a bag to pick up the needle so that I could analyze it back at the house. I wanted to know if there were any traces of the substance that was potentially used on Alex to get her away from here. There didn't seem to be anything else that I could find so I headed back to the house to tell Margaret about what was going on. She is more powerful than I am with certain things like charms, so she could possibly tell how they were able to find Alex and get her to remove her bracelet. The charm bracelet that Margaret gave to Alex at age 5 had a spell put on it so that only Alex was ever about to take it off. No one else would be able to no matter how hard they tried. The only other reason I can see her taking it off is if her wolf told her to because she was going to need all her strength.

Once I got back to the house, I called for my wife to join me in the living room so I could tell her everything that had happened and what my suspicions were about what happened in the forest. As soon as she walks in, I can't help but start to break down in front of her for failing not only her but also our king. She helped to lift my spirits and soon we started talking about next steps and how we were going to approach the conversation with Alejandro Montez, the king of the werewolves.

"Have you told anyone about her being taken from us?' Margaret asked me, looking worried.

"I talked to the alpha of the White Pines pack but I didn't tell him that she was taken. All I said was that she hadn't come home and that she might be lost. So be on the lookout for a girl with her description. I also said that she is very important to the king in hopes that they might take it a little more seriously." I told her.

"Good, we need to keep things as vague as possible for now. We can't reveal her true identity just yet. The only thing I can't figure out is why she would have taken off the bracelet. We gave her specific instructions to never take it off." She said. Then she started fidgeting with her fingers and I already knew what she was going to ask.

"We did tell her that, but I'm starting to believe there is a good reason as to why she took it off. Also, I have not contacted him yet regarding his daughter. I was hoping we might be able to find her before letting him know so we don't have to worry him anymore than he already is." I said before she had the chance to even ask the question that I knew was on her mind. Before either of us could say anything else, my phone rang so I got up to go answer it.

"Hello, this is Jason Stone. How can I help you?" I said, making sure to put the phone on speaker so that Margaret could also hear everything that was being said.

"Jason, This is Alpha Fredrick. I just got out of a meeting with my head patrol warriors and a few other important members of my pack to discuss your missing daughter. As I discussed this issue with all of them, my son, Liam, gave us some very interesting news. It seems that both your daughter and my son attended the same school in Australia." said Alpha Fredrick.

"Liam Black is your son?" Margaret said, shocked at the revelation.

" I'm sorry Alpha, my wife has joined me on this call because I keep no secrets from her, especially regarding our daughter or her safety." I explained to him, hoping that he would not mind Margaret being a part of this conversation.

"I understand Jason. Yes, Liam is my only son and he was part of an exchange program with our local high school that allowed him to travel to Highland Prep to train and meet new people whom he could form alliances with in the future. He also seemed to have a thing for your daughter. The minute I gave a description of your daughter he started to act very worried and questioned as to how it could be possible she was here. He also has multiple pictures of her from their time over in Australia." Alpha Fredrick said, then he lowered his voice before saying something that shocked both Margaret and myself. "He also believes that she could be his mate, he told me that he felt a pull toward her during the last two years of his stay at the academy but he couldn't be sure because he hadn't turned 18 until the day he left Australia. When he showed us the pictures he had of her, and then he saw some of the men looking at her with lust in their eyes, he just about lost control and his wolf nearly took over. I have never seen anyone act like he did, especially after someone who just saw a photograph."

"How can we know for sure that Liam is Alex's mate?" I asked.

"Do you have anything of hers with her natural smell on it? That would currently be the easiest way to tell without her physically being present." he said to us.

We have an entire closet full of her clothes. Will that work? If so, would you and your son like to come to our house and verify this potential belief? I asked them, hoping that this revelation was real because that would mean that Liam would do anything to get his mate back. We just weren't sure yet if we should reveal her true identity to them or not. I guess we will have to see how things go after they arrive.

"We can be there in the next 30 minutes. Just let me know the address." He said.

I gave Alpha Fredrick our address and we waited for them to arrive.
